Bullitt ADM's...

Anyone care to guess how bad the ADM's will be for the Bullitt?

Maybe someone who works at a dealership will have some idea how much they will be asking over sticker.
I love this new Bullitt , and I'd love to be able to get my hands on one, but if dealers are gona charge 5-10k over sticker I can basically say goodbye to a brand new one...maybe just wait a year for a used one...

preliminary thoughts are that there wont be any, and if there is, they wont be much and won't last long...this car isnt a "have to have" car like the GT500 is. Its a niche car....a lot of non-ford people wont care much about it.

Just like you concluded. At first $5 -10K. It won't last, not while the GT500s are getting close to MSRP and we are headed towards a reccession.

I doubt many would pass the chance on a GT500 for a little more or similar price, not even some of the wannabe Steve McQueen would be that stupid.

Although, the possibility exist I could be proven wrong.

You guys make some good points...

I remember being at a dealer in San Antonio back in 2001 and seeing a True Blue '01 Bullitt that they wanted 5k over for, but that was right when they had came out, and there weren't really any other SE Mustangs back then.

Is it possible that becasue of the lack of recognition to the average consumer and all the other 2 million SE's that are running around these days, the possiblity of getting one at or under sticker may not be a pipe dream...?

The general consensus is there won't be any markups (in my area at least). The 1st car coming in is sort of ordered for a good customer. If he doesn't take it, I can't imagine my dealership charging over list for it. It wouldn't suprise me if we discounted it. Time will tell.

Has anyone come across an actual ADM on the Bullitt yet?
So far most reports of orders are at or below MSRP.

I just ordered a GT/CS from a local KC area ford dealer...while in the negotiations, I was also given a price Shelby, regualr GT, and for a Bullitt. I was quoted "no X-paln, but below MSRP...about $500 above invoice" for the Bullitt. But I have a VERY good history with this dealer, and bought many times before.

That being said, if any of you are paying an ADM on a Bullitt, you are NOT looking hard enough, or you are not working with someone willing to work with you.

In the end a GT/CS was more of a car at the right price for me so that is the direction I went.

That's the first I've heard of no X plan on the Bullitt. Must be that dealer.

The Shelby GT sales should have taught dealers a valuable lesson in what people expect for their money. Perhaps some learned from it, perhaps some didn't.

Every single SE since 2001 had ADMs for the early production with some exceptions, how long they lasted was determined by the public's appeal for the particular model.

ADMs will in most cases kill a car. The Marauder was an example of that.
Some dealers caught on that they wouldn't work on the Marauder, but others had Marauders on their lots for over a year because they wouldn't budge in their ADM.

I guess there are reasons why ADMs can't be 'banned' but they should be.

It won't kill the BULLITT but it will slow down the sales until dealers come to their senses and recognize what they are selling. I believe it will follow a similar pattern as the '07 Shelby GT.

Yes for the Bullitt I'm sure they'll still sell all 7700. It is a Mustang after all.
In the case of the Marauder they didn't get anywhere near the goal, primarily I believe because of ADMs, and in that respect 'killed' the car.

Even the GT/CS has ADMs initially at some dealerships. But they quickly disappeared in most cases.
I think on the SGTs, many dealers had visions of a repeat of the GT 500. Thankfully ADMs on SGTs also vanished after a short period. You will find an occasional dealer still trying it, but a knowledgeable buyer will look elsewhere.

I have found 3 dealers in central indiana that are not charging adm's for the reasons above... If he charges over sticker, move on. I told my old dealer that few are charging adms and they don't believe me, so I found another dealership that seems knowledgeable.

The Bullitt is a very nice car, but doesn't warrant an ADM of any kind. There are just too many Mustangs out there to choose from. And the 2007 Shelby GT was a perfect example of how quickly dealers got the lesson. There were not enough people "in the know" to outstrip supply of these cars, but dealers thought they had another GT500 on their hands, which they most definitely didn't. Overall the cars didn't represent good value. The Bullitt does if sold at MSRP or below. As well, the US economy is not in the best of shape and people will not part with their money so readily. Walk away from any dealer charging anything over MSRP for any car. Demand dictates pricing.

I just ordered one tonight with x-plan in Greenfield, IN. I got a nice trade-in price on the GT/CS.

Didn't you just get the CS a few weeks back? What did they give you for a trade?
