check this out.
When I saw this image last night, I knew I had seen this before. I remembered this morning.

This was released (I think) in late 2004, right when the 05's were coming out. It's almost dead on! The roof, the hips, the tailights a real close. Even the color is the same.
(it is a Hotwheels "Pony Up")
Weird coincidence.

Though it is probably just a styling exercise, it is a testament to the current Mustang's good looks if an Italian styling studio wanted to "work with it". Like the overall muscular shape and it has hips! But those tail lights have to go. Now I'd like to see what a Zagato Mustang would look like...

Now .. can some good photoshopers please photoshop an s-197 into the new guigaro in the front ? please mix the 09 face lift its going to have and the new prototype sketch together with a z350 front height going to a pure muscle to the back withs hips ...
I could do that if i knew how to use photoshop ...

I wouldn't be surprised if it was a hint at where stuff is going for us...especially if its shown at an autoshow. (like it states..LA)
Why even show it there at a place like that, if its not a taste of things to come (or to gauge reaction)
If its considered a prototype and people go GAGA for it... ace
if people hate it, no harm no foul

True, the Italian styling houses normally launch their concepts at the Geneva show. So, perhaps it's significant that this will be at LA?

If it was that clean of a photochop to remove the Blockhead, It may have been just as easy to photochop the car itself. But I guess if it's in Italy, we have to expect the unexpected.

I applied some filters to try to see more detail. How does that trunk work? I don't see the edge of the trunk. And are those triangular exhaust tips. How many people does it take to put gas in a car?

First of all I would just like to say that I like the look. It's about time we get something new to speculate on.
How the hell do all three of them fit in that thing? It does not loook that big. Especially compared to the big Mafia lookin dude.

Paul - thanks for sharing that pic - I like that version - could it be a 2+2?
That sure would vault the Mustang into a much more modern look...I'm a retro fan - but that's just sweet!
