2007 SVT Cobra?
2007 SVT Cobra?
I was at Chapman Ford today talking to a salesman about specialty mustangs, he showed me a few cools ones (ie. Outlaw, GT/CS, etc) but I was really interested in the GT500 and he said they are beyond hard to get which I already know. He told me though that Ford is coming out with a non-Shelby, 2007 SVT Cobra in March or May, I forget which. He told me it would be packing around 400-hp, but he didn't tell me much else bcause he didn't know. Does anyone know about this car? He also said it would sell at MSRP and would sell for mid to upper $30,000s.

Huh, that's a new one to me. There's nothing in the order banks for an SVT only the Shelby GT upfitter package. He's probably just pulling your leg.
Ok seriously, the Outlaw?! That's a brain child of the dealership.
The only regional option package i know of was the Stampede edition for OK and TX.

That "Outlaw" isn't a Ford special edition. It's a GT with the appearance package, some decals, and Ford accessory wheels. If it was a Ford SE, the window sticker would indicate it.
Go to the TMS exterior mods forum and you can thousands of "specialty mustangs". This "Outlaw" is no different than the "GT 300" side stripes we often see on here. An individual/dealer decided to put stripes/stickers on his/her stang. There's nothing wrong with that as long as a seller isn't telling you that it's a Ford special/limited edition.
He was correct about the GT/CS. It is indeed a limited edition mustang from Ford.

Also, notice the Roush rear spoiler. Not a bad looking combination, somewhat like my home made combination which will do until Ford makes a reasonable special edition to bridge the gap peformance wise.
Correct me if Im wrong but isnt The Outlaw a late 60's Mustang that the military had built to train personel in high speed driving? Goldberg the wrestler bought this thing last year or two I think. Anyway maybe it was a Camaro but I thought it was a mustang. Im thinking that is where the dealer got the name for the car. Regardless very lame of the salesperson to misinform this guy about the car and the SE coming out. Typical.
Looks like crap

They consisted of Boss '9's and CJ's from 1969 and 1970, as well as some Torinos I believe.
There was a story of one of the original cars being found in a storage unit a couple of years back. It was a 1969 Boss '9 with 1970 grill and fenders, presumably to show the new model year.
Hau Thai Tang was quoted a few years ago saying the touring Outlaw show sparked his passion for Mustangs and automotive design.

You're thinking of the Lawman. There were only two made. One was wrecked, the other was bought by Bill Goldberg.
From http://www.mustangandfords.com/thehi...ary/index.html
"In 1970, lawyer and drag racer Al Eckstrand put together a Lawman Racing Team, consisting of two 780hp Boss 429 Mustang drag cars and six 428 Cobra Jet Mach 1s, to tour U.S. military facilities around the world. It was during the Vietnam War, and servicemen were happy to see some of the musclecars from back home. Of course, Ford also hoped they would visit their local Ford dealer when they returned to the United States."
That beast has 1200hp. I wonder what it would do in the 1/4 mile?
