where to get Shelby GT hood scoop?
Actually it's not pop-riveted on, those are decoration only. It's bolted on like the optional scoop from Ford, and additionally held on with 2-sided tape. I'll try to get pics of one today for you.
If it was damaged, you would need the VIN from the damaged Shelby GT, the dealer would call Shelby Autos and be able to buy a replacement. But only if proof was provided that it was for a car that was upfitted by them as a Shelby GT.
How about this one? It's intended for a real 65-66 Shelby. No rivets, but that was a Cobra thing anyway. I thought about this one for my car, but ended up with the Ca. Dream hood instead. I like, though.

hi backafter20,
thanks for this....will this fit our s197 Mustang??
thanks a lot!
I was able to get some pics of the Shelbys at the dealership last night, but didn't get to open the hood for an underside pic. These were there for various body work touch-ups, and there was another one on the showroom floor all locked up.
I would think that if the curvature wasn't perfect, any decent body shop could make up the difference. The hood is actually fairly flat in that small area out there in the middle, though the scoop would slope downwards with the hood compared to the '65. So, it'll fit if you make it fit! This hood scoop wouldn't be cloning a Shelby GT, as it is from a '65-'66 Shelby. The shape is a bit different, especially along the front edge. Why would anyone want one? The same reason some want side scoops, or LED taillights, or custom plenum covers. To be unique and to make the car look as we want it to. You don't have to like everyone's mods (I don't), but everyone has a different idea of what they want. Sure the scoop's not functional, but how much on these cars is? And how many non functional decorations has Ford and Shelby added since the beginning? BTW, JCWhitney does carry this scoop as well. As far as the underside of the Shelby hood, it should look stock, because that is what it is, plus a bolt-on scoop.
