A Special Thank You To AmyB

I just want to express my thoughts about many of the posts I've read here concerning the new Shelby GT; some constructive, others, well...less so. I will admit that I, too, have been critical of this car to some degree, but I do so not because I don't like Shelbys, I do so because I DO.

So, Amy, while I know some have indeed said this to you in other threads, I want to personally thank you for, 1) taking the time out to post on these boards, and 2) for bringing back a genuine Shelby Mustang for enthusiasts to get excited about again. It shows great fortitude to come on here and withstand some of the less-than-complementary comments that are so easily tossed about.

While the new Shelby GT misses some of the styling cues and features I personally would like, it is my hope that you will build a car for enthusiasts who want to order the "full meal deal," meaning a Shelby that can be had with all the premium bits Ford is bringing out on the '07 GTs. I know some here like bare-bones, stripped down, race-ready models for the track (nothing wrong with that), but I hope you will also produce a model(s) closer to the features list of the 1969 Shelbys, which, by the standards of the day, came pretty fully loaded.

Now if we could only get those ADMs under control.

Thanks again for not shying away from these forums while under fire. I know the flak can get heavy at times.

Ms. Boylan I would also like to thank you for taking the time to peruse these boards and answer our questions as best you can. We are the heart of this hobby and while perhaps not as important to Ford right now(they would prefer new customers) we also carry the passion for these things right into the higher profit = year end gross take sales catagory. As such we tend to be more strident about what we would like to see, not just on a personal level, but from a larger Blue Oval point of view as well. If you could carry our passion back to the suits at Ford regarding the need to build the best product they can, so you have a great platform with which to add to, I htink we would be most appreciative. And please take heart form the fact that while the net does allow every person that freedom to op ed, it doesn't mean that a concensus can't be reached. Thanks again.

Hi,
First thanks to all for the patience and understanding with us and these new projects. I truly believe the passion is what makes great cars, I also beleive that everybody who has the passion has a "definate" opinion on what is needed to be built and what we have to build. But unlike a passion for a hobby, I have a business to run and a relationship to secure. Both very hard to do when passion runs high.

The good news, i have a full staff, including myself that has this passion. We will do our best to fullfill all your dreams of the next Shelby.

Thanks again for all the posts above and on the site. Its very much appreciated

Amy
