Shelby GT X-pipe

Can someone tell me how the Xpipe is attached to the Shelby GTs? Is it welded or clamped? It IS FRPP right?

The part number for the X-pipe is M-5251-R and it is clamped on. In order for you to attach it to a Mustang GT H-pipe you will need to cut off the H crossover.

Nino, Will it equally clamp to the V6 y-pipe? I know pipes behind the cats are 2.5", like the OE h-pipe, but I'm not sure if it lines up properly to the y-pipe, to just cut and clamp.

We're working on figuring that out. Just by looking at some diagrams it looks like it will fit, but until we actually test fit it we won't know for sure. We already have a V6 victim, er volunteer, and the X-pipe is on it's way to our office. I hope to have an answer in a week or two. If everything pans out like I hope, V6 owners will finally have unlimited mid-pipe/axle-back combinations to choose from at a reasonable price.

Thanks Nino! Can't wait to find out if the FRPP x-pipe will fit without too much trouble. Supposedly there's also a Dynomax #53420 x-pipe, specifically for V6 conversion to duals. However, I was told that its maker (Walker) has temporarily stopped offering the 53420 by itself. However, it's supposedly still available in a full conversion kit, including catback.

I just installed one last weekend on my GT. I did a write up with pics of it going in.

Really easy install (on a GT). Anyone with standard tool skills like myself can install it.
