Shelby GT ordered...something different in the works
Wow this thing is getting crazy. WTF is the upfitter charge for if they still are going to add on another 4k or more after the Shelbyization? Is that just a "**** poor management " fee Ford is slapping on it now? Hell at least that would make sense. It just amazes me that we cant get straight answers from dealers, have ADM's added on, and they cant give anything other than a Mustang or Shelby away at Ford. Even now with all the discounts on the mustang it seems as if that is waning too. I have wanted a Shelby since I knew what a car was. But Ford is pulling so much BS they are making the government look on the up and up.
So, are you ever going to say what the "something different in the works" is?
And let us know when you are going to be picking it up, heck, I might drive up there just so see it roll out of the building.

As soon as I have my VIN you bet I will let you know when I will be there to pick it up.
I don't know how much I can say that is why I am leaving it to Brad and Scothew to say anymore. I am unsure if I say more I may mess up the opportunity, but I was asked to start the thread already. I am waiting on my VIN and then I am guessing Brad or Scothew will divulge more. I have the benefit of reaping the reward of what Scothew and Brad have planned so you can say I am in the passenger seat and they are driving.

congrats
I hope you are correct but this is questionable in my mind. Original press releases inferred it but never said it directly as they may have been referring only to the manual trans. This question has been asked on several forums without receiving an answer. When I ordered mine I was looking over the fleet managers shoulder telling him what to enter into CONCEPTS. When he entered the code for the Upfitters package the order indicated 3.55 gears (on the manual trans). When he entered option 44L for the auto trans, the gears changed to 3.31 in the system. It shows 3.31 gears on my VOC. Maybe the axle gets swapped out in LV like the GT-H vehicle production, I hope????

Nope! It will probably be more once I add all the stuff I want on it, but initially it is still below MSRP of a GT500...although I still have not found a dealer selling one of those for MSRP.
The most currant info I have on the price on the Shelby GT, 07 upfiter GT $30,150, SA basic CAI Conversion, $7390 + GG tax, $ 1,000 Grand total $38,540 and thats with out any dealer bump! Thats as of this week who knows what the final figures will climb to! .....And you can bet this figure will climb with a few months left before they hit the Dealer Show Rooms!
Well if and when we get the VIN for the car, we are trying to do a online documentary of sorts basically following the cars production from start to finish. We want to be able to visit and document the car as it is being made at AAI and then follow its progress to Shelby Automotives in Las Vegas, ending with Brians trip driving it from LV back to Birmingham. We will be able to confirm more once we get a VIN and when the car will be built.

Thank you Scott!
I was beginning to feel like the worm on the hook.
The Mustangsource will be doing an article on the whole process of how a Shelby is made complete with pictures. I will be going down the line at Ford in Detroit to see how the base Mustang is made into the Shelby version, then Scott and I both will go to Las Vegas and see it go down the line there too. Scott will be taking pictures and doing another review on the Shelby GT like he has other cars.

Sounds like a really cool project. Good Luck.
You had me going there, I keep studying the order for something out of place like a "special order" 5.4 ; a vert or something else that was out the 54U package.
hahaha that would have been awesome! If only we had pull like that
