That's a fair price, for the time being.
IMO dealers will eventually have to come to terms and accept their position and understand the product they are selling. I estimate that between the holdback and the MSRP the combined margin is +/- $4K so there is room to make a fair profit and for someone to get a fair deal.
I suppose some dealers will resist giving discounts. If I were a sales manager my agenda would be to sell as many as possible, as soon as possible before the enthusiasm fades away.

According to one salesman on here the max profit on a Shelby GT at MSRP is $3289

Mark, the point I was politely trying to convey whether the profit margin is a net $3k or $4K is that after only a few weeks in the market there is no mad rush for the Shelby GT, hence, it would make sense for dealers to understand this is no GT500, it is a GT with $3K worth of mods with a $10.5K higher price tag than the GT and even the Shelby mystique and an engraved badge will not change its reality and the probability of my figure being five, six, seven, eight, nine hundred or even a thousand dollars off the actual profit margin will not change its reality either.
So, duh, sell them ASAP.

I was just trying to be precise to the point of being annoying.
OBTW, when did this polite stuff start?
I had typed more some more stuff in here but just deleted it because I was hijacking Kevin's thread.

So was I. Add the dealer fees which are 100% profit minus the cost of a car wash which includes 1/2 hour of minimum wage, two tea spoons of dish washing liquid, 10 gallons of recycled water, a few rags, and it is a +/- $4K profit margin.
I love being precise.
