That's not bad at all! Back in 2002, it took 9 months for me to get my Mach 1, from the day I placed the order, until it rolled off the truck!

What kind of horsepower do they rate the Shelby GT at with the Whipple blower? That thing has to have a very good power/handling dynamic going for it. Again, really nice car!

 

I was told around 520+ but I will try to get a dyno later for it.

 

After Thanksgiving I was going to see if you and Brad wanted to take it for a few days for photos and test driving. I was trying to heal up a little more before I called you. Will reach you this week.

Scott our father came into town this weekend and drove the Shelby.

His response was "awesome". He owned a 65 Fastback 2+2 when he was younger. He told me driving this car made him feel like he was 18 again. He also said he wouldn't own one (I think mainly because our stepmother wouldn't want him to have such a fast car.)

He said his 350Z has nothing on this car in looks, power, handling, braking and overall performance he hasn't driven anything like it.

(and he's driven some nice cars in his lifetime).

 

Another quote from our 86 year old (retired preacher) grandfather..."I really like those wheels and tires. That is a beautiful car."

In all seriousness though, great looking piece of automotive achievement. The wait may have been long, but it had to be worth the wait the moment you saw her.

 

It was right at 55K for the car which I think is quite the bargain, considering GT500's are still going for 10K or more over MSRP anywhere near me.

You are right Romeo...it was worth the wait!

 

The similarities between us grow! Not only is that almost exactly what I paid, its for the same reason. I couldn't find anyone willing to part with a GT500 in my area for even MSRP and I REFUSE to pay more than that for any car. I got lucky on this one.

That and it helps that our cars are 100% Shelby converted. Nothing, and I mean nothing against the GT500 as I would own one in a heart beat, but there is something to be said that 90% of what was converted on our cars was done at a Shelby facility and not the factory. Just my 0.02!

 

Sweet ride! Any issues with the Whipple fitting under that hood?

 

Not after they cut a hole on the underside layer.

 

Would you happen to have any pictures of the hood where they cut it? 'd love to have that hood on my stang.

Sorry, I don't have any but I will get some for you when my car returns. It is having both roof stripes replaced and I should have the car back this weekend.
