So it says it has a shorter rear end ratio.. what gearset, 3.55, 3.73's or heaven forbid, 4.10's???
I'd consider picking one of these up in Black/Silver if I could get it delivered with the CS-6 Hood, the WCC grille and a set of Shelby CS-66 wheels. It has virtually all the go fast items I have on my current car and with the aforementioned mods it would look far better. Then I'd have a true Shelby to go with my Shelby tribute.
If I were to buy a new Mustang GT, I would add the same Ford Racing Packages as this Shelby GT. So in that aspect, the Shelby GT would save me all the trouble of doing the upgrades myself. Another positive is the "SHELBY" name. The car will be a collectable!
Here are the things I don't like about the car.
1.) No duck bill spoiler.
2.) No fog lights. Yes, I know its suppose to look similar to an old GT350, but I still prefer to have two extra lights.
3.) The Hurst Shifter. I not crazy about the looks of it, although I imagine it works much better then the stock shifter(which I like the looks of better).
4.) The Shelby name plate being positioned on the dash. Why? I don't like it.
Yes, I like this new Shelby GT, but I am not 100% in love with it. Plus, how much is this thing going to cost?
To be honest with you, I expected something better out of both Ford & Shelby. I don't think I would be complaining about some of this little stuff like the fog lights and spoiler, had this car been 350-400 H.P.

From Autoweek
It seems a bit pricey, but probably costs a few $$ more than having the stripes and power packs done on your own.
The Shelby GT comes in white or black, with silver Le Mans-style racing stripes and Shelby GT badging. Exact pricing will come later, but the target is $35,000—about a $5,000-$7,000 premium over a Mustang GT
That is "a bit pricey" considering there is only a 25 h.p. gain.
If true, thats one knock about Ford that I hate. They want you to pay a ton of cash for very little. Look at GM, they were selling a 400 h.p. GTO for under $35k. I even saw some Dealers selling them right above $29k. Yep, I know the GTO is now dead, but GM was willing to give out the goods.

2. Usually I would agree, and normally I don't like the billet grills, but this one is nice.
3. Sorry, I love the look and the fact that they are putting Hurst shifters back in Fords... I loved the one I had on my 72 Torino with a 351CJ.
4. I have to agree with you but it is tradition to place it on the dash.
Like I said before, you can't please evryone!
