Since I mentioned the GT/CS, is anybody else dissapointed that they didn't give this model a ducktail spoiler?
Yes I am. Ford, please give me a spoiler delete option in 08 so I can do it myself.

I think you will find the 08 GT/CS will have a Few Appealing Changes to convert even more to this S/E.
Kevin, I think you should pm me if you can't say publically what the appealing changes are

That would be nice for the GT/CS!! I look forward to hearing what new things are in store for that car.

I thought it was just a one year run too all this time.

$7400 for Shelby package $2140 for spoiler delete. This must be Fords next Bold Move. As for the ADM a lot of people on this site up to and including the guy that started this site keep passing out this BULL SH@# about supply and demand and Ford can't do anything about it. Then explain to me if you can why Wal-Mart or other stores can't or don't jack up the price for the hot Xmas gifts that sell on eBay every year for 3X MSRP. Example: Xbox 360 last year PS3 this year. And for $7400 I better have a box in the trunk filled with the parts they take off.

Sheesh. It takes time to formulate a response that will calm people down y'know? Blah blah blah... Whatevers already. Judging from the responses so far - they have their work cut out for them. So much for the promise of an "affordable" Shelby for the "average Joe (or Jane!)".

This is now a "designer car". There is no reason to buy it other than collector value. For under $3000, you can build a faster and better handling car yourself from a base GT.

My appologies to those who saw this response initially. I find myself in a position of trying to be one of the "group" but unable to respond as such. And in my position, I shouldn't.

Guys, if you want any info on the Shelby Gt, feel free to PM me or email me at amyb@shelbyautos.com I will do my best to respond timely

Amy

Info requested in this thread....

I can confirm the GG tax as being 1000.00
Our charge of 7390..
The total is 36, 970 for the shelby GT regardless if its a manual or automatic.

The 7390K includes PDI, all the labor(removal, install, test drive,) all the FFRP parts, our hood parts, painting, the striping, the security and the storage, side air bags, mats, The outsiding badging, The letters, the sill plates, dash and engine plates, the overhead and et all. it also includes the shipping back to the dealers which is huge and the control of shipping 6000 cars. I might have forgot something, but this is close.

$36,970 seems like a reasonable price to me. Of course you could buy the performance packs from FRPP and do some of the upgrades yourself to a standard GT, but Shelby Autos is working closely with Ford to perfect these cars' suspension and performance. And of course at the end of the day, you'll have the prestige of owning a Shelby Mustang. Some of us have dreamt of that since childhood, and now it can be a reality.

Compare the Shelby GT to other similar tuner Mustangs:
  • Roush Stage 2: Body kit, interior trim, seats, wheels, tires, anti roll bars, springs, lower control arms and Billstein shocks, just 300 hp for $39,950.
  • Saleen S281: Body kit, interior trim, seats, wheels, tires, anti roll bars, springs, 335 hp for $43,711
  • Shelby GT: Body kit, painted stripes, wheels, dampers, springs, sway bars, strut tower brace, 325 hp for $36,970
Is Roush's body kit and suspension worth ~$15,000? Is Saleen's 10 hp advantage over the Shelby worth $7,000? A Shelby GT with a blower would be about the same price and would push ~500 horsepower! Even with the dealerships' "market value adjustment", the Shelby GT is a bargain by comparison!

With goodies added in like the IUP, stereo, and such it is actually almost 40k. The GGT isnt Ford or Shelby or even the dealers fault so that understandable. My gripe was with the ADM.

The only thing to combat ADM is to not buy the car. If demand falls, so will the ADM.

That's assuming you could find one. PS3s were selling for $1500 on eBay because they were in short supply at retailers.

No doubt the Shelby GT will get ADM'ed and then eBay'ed on top of that. Yay!

That's not fair. Amy's been very accessible and forthcoming the whole time. I wish more tuners and aftermarket companies were as interested in consumers' opinions.

Yeah dude, like Brad says, that isn't a fair thing to say at all. If what you said was true, then everyone in the world would be out to screw everyone else out of their money, no matter what kind of business they were in. I take offense to what you said, and I am sure alot of other salespeople who are on this site would be miffed at your comments as well. So, by your idiotic statement, since I treat my customers very well, and they come back to see me when they need another car, I must be trying to take advantage of them, because I'm nice to them, and do anything I can to help them get a good price. I'm sorry to hear that you have a low expectation of people's character.

The first one rolled off the line. Check it out at http://forums.bradbarnett.net/showthread.php?t=57990 or http://www.blueovalnews.com/index.ph..._articleid=436

The 2007 Ford Shelby GT will be priced at a starting MSRP of $36,970. I think the high price is a result of the Dealers gouging the people. Shelby probably figured he might as well get a piece of the pie. I'm not sure how others feel but all the price gouging the dealers have done have discouraged me from buying ANY Ford product.
