Anyone noticed the lack of posts from the Shelby folks since 12/18?

first I thought I could get a GT500, ADMs killed that, then I thought the Shelby GT, but looks like price is going to kill that too! This is really unbelievable. I cant believe they think they will be able to sell these!
My '06 GT looks better all the time........

Agreed! I have been waiting three years to replace my 04 Mach 1 with a S/E mustang. GT/CS doesn't count in my book, the GT500 while nice for $42,000, is not worth the ADM to me, and now this with the Shelby GT ($7,500 for 25HP without the ADM)!
Where is the S/E with 375-425 HP for ~$35,000?
I am tired of Ford with the BOLD Moves advertising, this is nothing but old school greed. I will be in line to buy the first S/E with more the 50HP above the GT that does not have Carroll Shelby's name on it.
That is assuming they actually come up with something before the Camaro hits the streets. I can't believe I am the only long time diehard Mustang fan who has had enough.

That sounds like a great question for Amy B to answer for ya.

I don't make 'em, I just sell 'em. Don't shoot the messenger. Hah!

The M45 is a truck and can get less than a car.
The car standard is higher. Like my previous post, my guess is the Shelby GT is rated at either 16/24 or 17/22.

05-06 GTs had 3.55s as a standard item. Maybe the 3.55's combined with the FR parts puts it over the edge

The Mustang GT is so close to the limit. Do the math.

M45 in the EPA world is classified as a large car. Go Figure?

True, but where is that fine line? Who decides?

Auto's didn't. I think this is what has changed the rating.

What? Is this the same M45 slated between the G35 and Q45? Last time I saw one, it looked like a sedan to me. The only truck(ish) models in Infiniti's line-up are the FX35/45 and QX56.

BACK TO TOPIC...
Shelby GT pricing/ADM's - shouldn't be surprised or disappointed. Don't care if you're only paying for the name/badges. IMO, I hope this blows up in their (Ford's) face. Kind of kills hope for a decent future SE at a "reasonable" price. As much as I like Mustangs, this kind of crap makes it easier to spend my money elsewhere.

I'll also chime in here b/c I know people are listening. It makes little sense to me to pay the cost of a Shelby GT, when I can get a GT/CS in more color selections at 1000 UNDER invoice. Order some parts and make my own (or probably better) performing Mustang and NOT have to pay GGT or ADMs. I just don't get how they (Ford and Shelby) think they should be able to charge MORE for what somebody can do themselves, when they should be providing bundled discounts and incentives for them to do it instead of relying on a "name" and serial number. Ford actually had the right idea with the GT500. Too bad the dealers screwed it up! A GT500 in my area just sold for nearly $25K over sticker. You gotta be nuts!

Since I mentioned the GT/CS, is anybody else dissapointed that they didn't give this model a ducktail spoiler? That's what the original CS was best known for, the rear end.

The Challenger is looking more and more appealing right now to me. Ford needs some competition in the market, and quickly!

Well first off all I heard from Amy was that the Shelby charge was looking to be around 3-4K. Now Ford gets the charge, marks it up, and turns it into $7800. BS. I can understand making a profit but come on. Secondly, I genuinely think Amy was trying to help out. Yes she was also doing her job to promote Shelby but I dont think for one second she was anything but helpful and sincere. And I am asking myself wtf Ford is charging $2140 for? An Upfitter package? WTF is that? They remove floor mats and a spoiler and what else? Nothing as near as I can tell. You actually get less stuff before it goes to Shelby and they charge that for it. And then it gets Shelbyized and adds another $7800? Come on. regardless, my other frustration is with the dealership that told me no ADm and now the tune changes. Typical. I actually thought this dealership was different than the others I have been with. Their service is awesome but the sales department is staus quo. Well the thing I am happy about it that I know wher I am at now. I havent modded my Gt at all because I planned on trading her in for a Shelby but now that changes and I can start doing some things to her

I think you will find the 08 GT/CS will have a Few Appealing Changes to convert even more to this S/E.

Do you have any ideas what changes they will make?. I thought the GT/CS was only going to made for one year ('07)?

This is off the Shelby Forum:

About the gas guzzler tax:
"We tested twice, passed once, lost on retest by a minute amount, so yes, there is a tax

Amy"

About pricing - notice the words "base mustang" not premium package or with options.

"Thank you all for for explaining the pricing on the shelby GT, the 35.9K quoted is for the base mustang with the shelby and 54u packages. I think I have clearly stated that options were extra.

thanks

amy"
