Hey, I see the Heritage Ford GT behind the Shelby GT, but can anyone make out what car is in front of the Ford GT? I can't tell but it does have a long fastback look to it.

The GT Upfitters package seems to have an additional $835 of profit built into it unless there are other options not listed.

Airbags are..........................$380
355 LS................................$100
18" polished whls and tires....$825

Total..................................$1305

Interesting as well is that the Ford Partner site lists just the Factory sticker with X-plan discounts and not the Shelby add on. This may be misleading for some buyers. I saw several GTs in black or white with the upfitters option at a few of the Orlando dealers.

The 54U Upfitters Package also includes the front fascia, rear fascia and side scoops. Amy has said that Shelby purchases and installs the 3.55 limited slip rear axle assembly and this is listed on the Shelby window sticker. Listed under the 54U Upfitters Package on the Ford window sticker it says 3.55 ratio limited slip axle. Either the Shelby or Ford sticker is not correct. If the rear axle needs warrenty work who is going to cover it?

Why on earth do they do that? You can get the 3.55 installed at the factory for $100. THey actually replace the whole rear axel assembly when they put the 3.55s in at Shelby. The labor alone would cost more than $100. I tell you they are some messed up people at Shelby and Ford. Can anyone tell me why this car can't be built 100% at Flat Rock?

3.55 Is only availble on the manual trans and is installed at flatrock. Automatics have the 3.55 rear end installed at Shelby.

My friend Jimmy and I drove to Gainesville from Pensacola this morning, and he purchased this Shelby GT for MSRP. All the quality control issues are being addressed and corrected on the car under warranty. The local dealer in Pensacola has an indentical Shelby GT, and they wanted $15K over MSRP Needless to say, it was worth it to drive half way across the state to save $15K The car handles great, and looks even better in person. Jimmy just joined TMS, and we will get some pics posted soon. Thanks to Frank and George for posting the pics and the info that it was for sale for MSRP, otherwise he would not have got one.

Interesting, saw one at local Kansas Ford dealer, about 10K ADM. Hood scoop looked like crap also, did not fit flush too the hood, seemed to be bowed on one side, wifey spotted it a mile away before I even got close to the car.

Here are a couple of pics of Jimmy and his new Shelby GT he bought in Gainsville yesterday. We drove straight from Gainsville to the local Cruise-In, and it was very well received This morning we changed the oil on it at 500 miles, and yes, the CS/GT front facia just barely clears the Rhino Ramps, but it does, so it was just as easy to do as my "regular" GT. I love my GT, but had I know back in June that a Shelby version was going to be available, I would have just waited and ordered the Shelby. I think all the Shelby GT owners will be very happy, especially if they can get one at MSPR like Jimmy managed to do thanks to this forum.

Rarecat,

Thanks for the info. I purchased the car last month from Gainesville Ford. Considering all of the other Ford Dealers in my area were adding $5k-15k I was happy to make the 3.5 hour drive. As far as the flaws go, they are all covered by the warranty.
