$42,000 for a 2008 Shelby GT?

I was sitting outside at IN & OUT having a burger and my car was sitting in front of me. A guy walked up to me and asked what I wanted for my car. I told him and he said that he just bought a 2008 Shelby GT in San Francisco for $48K. I just looked at him and said wow. He told me that when Shelby dies that the car will be worth around $75K. He has it stored away and has less than 300 miles on it. I told him good luck~

It's good to know that car salesmen still know how to earn a living in this day and age.

You should've told him that when he dies, the car is going to be worth nothing if he hasn't enjoyed it. Some people need to remove their craniums from their rectums, take a look around, and get their priorities straight.

For that price I hope it was at least a convertible.

Rich, did he pay 42 or 48? Either way, I hope it was a Shelby GT...500 for that price, ha!

My bad! He told me he paid $48K. I was so dumbstruck that I didn't ask him one thing about the car. I felt like saying that he could have had mine for half the price.

That guy better send a piece of the car off to greedy ol' Shelby to sign (for a nominal fee) before he croaks because then the car will be PRICELESS! Everyone is looking to rip the next guy off these days.

How about the guy in my town that uses his as a daily driver...no problem there.

But he never washes the poor thing. Its so freakin' dirty that you cn hardly see the swirl marks in the clear coat through the dirt. I've seen him driving it out of the local automated car wash! I know he paid over $40k for it because I know the manager at the dealership. I just want to say dude, take better care of your car. It could be so beautiful.

Perhaps not right after he kicks the bucket. I would not be surprised at all if it reaches that value if not more specially if Shelby Autos were to close shop which I certainly doubt. Many presently think the $10K worth of Shelby mods is outrageous but nostalgia has a way of disregarding common sense and appreciating value on what was missed the first time around.

This might be a good time for his fans to buy his signature engraved plates.
