According to Edmonds Inside Line the Shelby GT will be priced at $35,000, okay I've just lost interest. MT estimate was $32,000 for the GT-H with an automatic. This should have put the manual at $31,000. Foolish when an extra $8,000 will buy a GT500. I will spend the same for a 2008 400hp Boss Mustang thank you.

You will likely be skeptical and find it hard to believe, that's the deal I have, give or take a couple of hundred dollar providing the dealer keeps its word and values their integrity. We'll see if the hand shake was an honorable one as it has been on past occasions.

Not every dealer shares Town & Country's approach toward their average customer.

 

And since when do you believe what Edmunds has to say about a car that isn't even been priced out yet? I think this car will be around $33K, which is a good price. If its a little higher, so be it. Your getting the California Special Front bumper installed, PLUS, all the Ford Racing performance parts put in for you, AND they are warrantied! Go out and get the power pack, and see if the dealer will honor the warranty with them on? Most on here say that they won't. I love this car, and look at it as a good stepping stone for even better things to come.

 

I figured on $34K, amyb posted the target price was "under $35K".

I interpret that statement to mean, $34,999.99... which is not quite $35K.

 

Who's making a 400-hp Boss? I hope your source isn't the Motor Trend article. Remember the Mustang vs. Charger article in 2005? They swore up and down there would be a 2008 Bullitt Mustang.

 

My dad used to tell me "believe none of what you hear and half of what you see and you'll be ok".....words that still ring true And whoever can get that 43K Shelby deal get me one while you are at it please!

Where can you get a GT500 for $43,000??? Numerous people already have with a little work. Unless they are all lying in thier posts which I highly doubt. Contrary to popular belief and what all dealers would want you to believe not everyone is paying over msrp for this one. Svt employee Matt believes by late 2007 model year or 2008 msrp will be easily in reach and is doable now with a little legwork and no these cars are far from sold out. Look Shelby's in the 60's were far rarer than they are now. In 1967 there were over 442,668 mustangs produced and around 2,048 gt500's. In 1968 there were still 299,061 mustangs produced and 1,542 gt500's and 1,251 gt500kr's. Today you will have at least 9,000 gt500's produced for 2007 and anywhere from 150,000 to 200,000 mustangs. People are paying over msrp for the gt500 like they were paying $5,000 over for the 2005 mustang. I wonder how they feel about there decision now when I know numerous dealers who will sell a mustang gt for $500 over invoice? There is a sucker born every minute. There is no car anywhere worth paying over msrp. A car overall is a horrible investment. These cars are not bars of gold. If you are looking for an investment I suggest real estate. You will be far happier with the outcome in the future.

 

I don't know, but if I personally paid a 15,000+ ADM on a Shelby or anything else, I would smile and lie through my teeth about it (and I am not one to lie about anything!) That would be too embarrassing to admit to. I'd say there are probably lots of people fibbing about what they actually paid to avoid online humiliation.

 

Remember the Mustang vs. Charger article in 2005? They swore up and down there would be a 2008 Bullitt Mustang. Actally no they didn't. The article reads " Ford won't launch the new Bullitt Mustang until the car gets a facelift. Most likely scheduled for the 2008 model year." Ford put out a statement recently saying the facelift originally for 2009 will now be in 2010 so according to the statement it will be in 2010 or later. It also reads most likely which has no certainty to it.

 

Well if numerous means maybe 4 or 5 people on here TOPS that I have seen then OK. I have personally called over 30 dealerships in 4 states looking for one at MSRP and was told no F'n way and believe it or not some in so many words. So matt and his legwork is BS IMO. Yes maybe next year it will be easily had at MSRP but Im talking about right now. Theer are still alot of Shelby's out there available but alot are sitting on Ebay being *****d out as we speak. One good thing about this Shelby GT I have notcied the past week is look at how the threads and replies in the GT500 section has died off. Perhaps this model help drop the demand on the 500.

 

Brad, the 43K is what this Shelby will go for, not the GT500.

I'll say again, at least 40K (35K MRSP plus 5K dealer mark-up plus tax/tag/title and whatever else the dealers and you choose to add in. The last GT-H went for a whooping 250K!!! People will pay it too. Shelby + Mustang = $$$$

The GT/CS will not be the last SE by Ford on the current Mustang platform. The Shelby GT joins the elite of Ford's Mustang SEs and I be less than candid if I were to state I didn't like it. As a matter of fact, I really like the black a lot. Now, given all that, why would I not be tripping all over myself to get one?

Each and every time we are all impressed by the lastest Mustang models, always assuming "this is it" and there will be no other. How many times have we assumed wrong? How many times have we been surprised?

 

I just returned from my Ford Dealer and because I belong to SVTOA I can purchase the GT500 with the options that I want out the door but before tax and Lic. @ $45,060 have the quote. They said the Shelby GT should be around $33,000 depending on what you order on the car. No BS. Hear in Arizona hint... It wasn't @ Bell Ford ( rip off artist)!
