You are talking about the Shelby GT500 not the Shelby GT. Two different cars and believe me I have had to educate 12+ dealers on what the differences are. We, luckily, have very knowledgeable dealers on this site.

I went to the Barrett-Jackson auction today. There are three Shelby GTs at Barrett-Jackson that I saw. Two white and one black.
Two of these are on a dyno display that allows lucky winners of a drawing to test their drag racing skills (reaction times and E.T.s against each other) while simulating a drag race in a Shelby GT (one white, one black). It was pretty cool to hear these cars actually rev and wind up on the dynos! I believe the black one is the one being sold at the auction.
The other Shelby GT (white) is on the floor. This one did not have any of the Shelby plates on the dash or under the hood - To discourage thieves I suppose. Dark Charcoal leather interior and a manual transmission.
It looks like Ford and Shelby did a good job on this display. Most times when I see manufaturer sponsored displays at events like this, I just walk by - but this display really gets attention. Great job!

ASU,
Correction-- the black 5 speed on the dyno is not serial #1-- that is located in the East-side of the main tent (with all the high $$$ stuff).
BTW, every time they did the drag race, a huge crowd swarmed around the stage-- great promo idea by Ford... The GM guys on the other side of the tent couldn't be pleased!

You are right, ZONASVT! Thanks for the correction - I was wondering why they would be putting #001 in the drag race exhibit.
And yes, when they do a drag race, the crowd really swarms to the Shelby GTs. Great promo!

Re: When will #0001 run?
I'd estimate 12 - 1 pm MST:

Any guesses? I'm figuring since the first production SRT-8 charger brought $52250 on Wednesday, there will be some crazy money bidded on this car-- say over $80k easily
