Traction Control

Question to those of you that have rented a GT-H...

Did the traction control disable button work?

The button on mine didn't depress all the way, but it did disable the traction control - for the first 2 days.

Then it got stuck with the traction control off, so I turned the car off and back on. That left it with the traction control on and I could never turn it back off again.

I was just curious.

Shelby disables the TC button before they hit the streets. It is my understanding though that they disable them by putting in a piece of plastic behind the button, keeping the button from making the electrical contact to turn off the TC. Someone said you can just pop the button off, and remove the plastic piece then pop the button back on and it works like normal. Just reverse the procedure before you give the car back.

That is consistent with my experience then. Our continued use of the button must have done something to make the plastic shift back to where Shelby intended so that it no longer made contact.

When I rented one last year there was a "C" clip behind the button that could be removed and TC could then be disabled.

you need to pull the plastic piece out - take pics of you doing this - and sell it to the concours guys 30 years from now for big bucks
