Go Here for a picture UNDER THE HOOD
I had a buddy of mine go to Vegas last week and he happened to walk by a Hertz place when they had the hoods open on a Shelby! That awesome guy knew i'd go nuts so he took a bunch of pictures. This is the only one under the hood.

I rented one (number 283) in Vegas on Thursday. It is an awesome machine to drive! I drove it up through Valley of Fire. Looks like the same place in the pics you posted. Check out the safety wire in the engine picture. The manager had to do the "walk around inspection (very thorough!) and he showed me the safety wire on the engine. He said it was to make sure no one stole the engine. You can see it in the engine picture on the left side.
The hertz dealers will have the cars for about a year (15-18,000 miles) and then they will go to dealers for sale. I took the one I had to the shelby plant in Vegas where they built them and got a bunch of pictures in front of the plant with the employees. It was pretty cool!
I'll post pics as soon as I can figure out how.
