Yes, it is one of the many wire seals they use on the GT-H to prevent someone from removing the engine or any other tampering. On the original Hertz Shelby "Rent a Racer" in the '60's, guys would rent them, pull the engine out of the Shelby, put it in their regular Stang, and then return the Shelby with their old engine. Read some of the thread in this GT-H forum and you will read all the details.

I almost cried when I returned the GT-H for the V6 Vert. More pics of the hood pin mounts, the interior hood mat, and hood.

Yeah, when you turn it in it defintely is a difficult moment. Especially seeing someone else drive it away. Speaking of the hood pins- the ones on mine were really difficult to slide out.

As I walked up to the car the first morning at the hotel, I noticed that both hood pins had been removed from their posts. Not sure what that was all about; vandalism or a parting gift for someone...sort of scary to think about.

Just curious - why would anyone who owns a Mustang GT pay $100 to rent the GT-H?

I've been trying to decide if it would be worth the money for the FRPP upgrades: suspension, x-pipe, GTA exhaust, strut tower brace, that special hood, and cai kit. Having owned an 06 GT, I was impressed with the changes Ford made to the 07 GT, when they upgraded the body to handle the GT500. Comparing the 06 GT-H to both of these cars was a reasonable step to determine what mods might go on my 07 GT/CS.

One last grouping of just how low the GT-H sits with 17" wheels/tires. It's very easy to bottom out approaching a speed bump with three adults and luggage on board.

I own a 2007 GT500 and would rent the GT-H if given the opportunity and needed a rental simply for the novelty.

Fiberglass. First two shots are my rental. Last two came from Chilli Bullitt's rental. Thanks again Chilli!
