They can get "S H E L B Y" spaced out nicely across the trunk lid over vinyl stripes for a rental but can't put it on the GT500???
I LOVE the GT-H and if I can find one for sale when the time comes in 7-9mos and I can afford it I am so buying one.

Mike, your thinking about getting another stang with all the mods you've done...... I saw the this car at the NY autoshow and it looked hot. I'd take the hood in a hot minute and the shelby lower grill. oh my... That's worth over.

Torrence, I'm not getting rid of my Mustang, no way no how.. they'd have to pry the keys off my dead body. The GT-H would be in addition to it. I'll get rid of my '35 street rod to make room for the second Mustang.

So the GT-H gets painted stripes and a nicely spaced SHELBY across the back and the GT500 gets the shaft...what the heck, I thought the GT500 was a 40k+ car and the GT-H was a rental car...what the heck...what the heck.
What has the world come to, next thing I know I will wake up and regular gas will be 3 bucks a gallon or something crazy like that...

Maybe the GT-H has painted stripes because it is only avail in one color choice, black with gold stripes so it's easy for the factory to paint them especially on such a low volume, 500. Since the GT500 is avail in many body color/stripe color combos it'd be cost prohibitive for the factory to paint them per order?
I agree, the GT500 is is a crown jewel to Ford like the Ford GT and it's ironic the "rental" gets the paint and better Shelby badging.

other than the cosmetics, the hertz edition is NOT a real Shelby. According to the teleconference I was in this AM with the Shelby Team, I specifically asked the question.
The hertz car looks like a Shelby but has the standard GT engine with a few MINOR changes.

Has anyone actually confirmed they are painted? I think they are vinyl and somehow a way to mount the letters securely was devised. Look at the stripe pattern as it surrounds the license plate well in this photo of production cars being delivered. It is the same as the stripes you can get from the dealer for the regular GT.

It sure looks like a Shelby to me. If this car where to roll across an auction block 30 years from now with these badges I'm guessing they would call it a Shelby. heck it's even rolling out of Shelbys shop.

When I was at the NY Auto Show, the GT-H was sitting there. I checked out the stripes, and I felt an edge. They felt like they were vinyl tape to me, and not painted.
