I remember the original CS back in '68. (I was 10 y.o.) I liked how they had what was then Cougar/Shelby taillights and side scoops. I've wanted a new Mustang since they came out in '05. I actually wanted a Shelby, but like was mentioned above, they're asking $35k over the sticker for 'em. Then I saw the CS... I ordered one, just the way I wanted it. The salesmen were trying to move me into a Shelby, but I was like "Hey! The Shelby costs $85k, and the CS is $35k... I'll get just as many tickets in the CS as I would in the Shelby, and by the time I'm done making it like I want, I'll STILL have $35k left over to pay for the tickets, traffic school, and increased insurance costs!" They couldn't argue with that!! I ordered personalized plates that say 'BLU GT/CS', so now everyone can ask what CS stands for...
And after driving SUV"s & pickups for the last 20 years, this IS my mid life crisis car! lol

I know the feeling, but the more people ask the better it is! I love talking about the car at the show, I wish I would get some sort of commission for all the PR work we do. There were 3 at our show today alone and it was great. A great conversation starter for sure.

Hey Krash, cool CS. I guess you decided to come on over here from the ST site? If you're the same guy, welcome, you'll like the people here a whole lot more,... they're decent and want to help, instead of mouse jockeys.

Yep, it is I... (Because there's only ONE Krash... lol)
I'm finding my way around this site, and finding some useful info too!
Cool, now I've got yet ANOTHER car site to lurk on!!

I actually took my CS to a small car show(about 30 cars) today. Even though it was mainly low-riders and the like, the car got so much attention, even standing next to an Evo! People thought I had put a bodykit on the car because of the front/rear fascias. I ended up taking 1st place in Street Stock. =) I was very proud of my baby today.

My wife has a gt cs and loves it. I put the old chrome logo on the dash board. I wish it had the rear ducktail and not the stock spoiler.

On a side note, shelby should have bumped up his GT to more than 325 hp. come on carroll, your original had 35 more horses over the GT. Put a set of pulleys and some shorty headers at least.

I had issues with buying the "California Special". being from Missouri, but not as many as giving the Ford dealer a 15k "BONUS" for selling us the GT500. We got rid of a 48K Expedition, to buy a new Shelby vert, didn't know it would cost 60K plus, we passed, bought a GT/CS vert. But it is cool sometimes when "know it all people" at shows, have to ask you, what they're looking at, take it as a complement.

Yup, in fact, I've found a heat extractor hood from TRUFIBER that looks like the '68 GT/CS hood, and then I could also install the CDC ducktail spoiler to make it an '07 GT/CS trubute to the '68 GT/CS

+1! And, he should have put in an adjustable panhard bar to re-center the rear axle after lowering the car, AND changed/adjsuted the pinion angle on the DS/axle.....the engine upgrades should have been from an actual tuner (he could have actually made a canned tune of his own with the software and a dyno), and it should have included UDP's/CMDP's/and LT headers!! A lost opportunity...but on the bright side, if I'd gotten an SGT, the possible value as a collector car would probably keep me from modding it...whereas my GT/CS was stock for like a week....and I still have UDP's/CMDP's/LTH/Adj Panhard bar/Alum DS/???? left to do.
