What Temp Do You Stop Driving w/ Vert Top Down?
What Temp Do You Stop Driving w/ Vert Top Down?
Guys-
I'm soon to be a proud owner of my first convertible, a 2007 GT/CS. Looking forward to the top down, wind-thru-your-hair, motoring which only a convertible can provide.
As the summer comes to an end, it will soon begin to cool off (at least here in NJ), which I am welcoming. The Fall is probably one of the best times to "drop-the top" and take that 100 mile leisure cruise.
At what temperature do those currently with verts say, "OK, its too cold, the heat is not helping, so up goes the top"? My guess is its somewhere around 40 degrees and below where its not fun anymore, but want to hear from YOU !

I would think that is a personal thing and how tolerant you are of the cold. I've been on a bike at 28* ( wind chill at 65mph is cold). don't think I will do that again thou. I really don't think there is a set temp.IMO.
I can drive mine all winter here in north central TX. Some days the 40 minute commute can have me pretty chilled by the time I get there though, so when I got the 07 I got the heated seats
It's the summer that's a problem, once the temps exceed 95 degrees it's not much fun to have the top down for more than about 10 minutes

with the a$$ warmers i'll be driving topless from sept thru july in so-cal (unless it rains)
Here in So Cal, I prefer to have the top up if it's over 95 degrees (rather have A/C on), or under 65 degrees.
Since I can't handle cold weather very well (don't know how you all in the Northeast handle it!!! ) that's about it for me! Fortunately the weather is almost always in the 70s during the day year round. I get lots of time with the top down.
