i guess this is an intro post so....



i was looking at the shelby gt - but our dealer only had a white one that was manual (i wanted an auto in my DD) and i didnt want black. so this is what she got for me instead.

she called me at work to ask what exhaust would make the car louder my bday isnt until the end of May, so i am looking forward to whatever else decides to show up and get added to the car.

unlike the 64 1/2, i can deviate from pure stock and have some fun wth this one.

 

You got this as a gift???....Good for you! You will love your GT/CS...beware the addiction to Mod! Where in Tampa are you?

i have owned a mustang since graduating high school and since getting rid of the SHO i have missed having a fun and fast car to drive. and considering how much involvement i have had with mustang clubs and shows in florida - it has really sucked not having one to enter in. (i was part of the original 3 that started the silver springs show and was involved with that until it was turned over to NPD - that was a couple months after i sold my 66 conv...)

funny thing about all of this is that SWMBO wants me to get the CAI, new exhaust, hood scoop (i liked it but this one obviously didnt have it - and i wont get into the functional vs non-functional debate as the chrome on the side of my 641/2 was supposed to simulate a scoop too )

and wants me to get this ASAP....

i guess i should be lucky to have someone telling me to go out and spend some money on the car.

its also funny to see the kids come up to me with a sad face and ask "dad - can you take me to school in the mustang"

 

Welcome ! wow that's some gift I do hope you go out and find a diamond as a Thank-You ! Congradulations , just think of all the gas you will save bt not having a 5.4 litre supercharged .

 

actually ed, she got the minivan she has been *****ing and moaning for on her birthday and is well taken care of in the jewelery department.so i guess turnabout was fair play... besides, i am now broke from paying for the car and she spends the days at the pool while i bust my hump at work. either way, i think she is on the winning side of the equation

 

Still, very nice that she's into your "sport" and interested in what makes your happy! Nice GT/CS - you will like it and once you add the CAI/Tune it will be about the same hp levels as the Shelby Gt...you may want to consider the Supreme GTA's axleback's - I have them and they are great...IIRC these are the same exhaust that comes on the Shelby Gt/ Shelby GT-H as well
