Rear Window Panel Removal

I am going to change the rear speakers out and there are no speaker grills on the 2007's. The panel on the needs to be removed. I heard that the side panels just pop off. Is there a trick or tip to do this, I tried and they wouldn't just pop off. Maybe I was not trying hard enough, just didn't want to force it. Tips...Suggestions?

You need to start with the entry guards, they are held on with clips and tape. Then remove the rear seats and on to the rear side panels. You need to remove 3 of those christmas tree clips on each side and pull the panels off. Then the parcel shelf has 4 of those tree clips, 2 on each side and it slides out.

The hardest part is getting those clips out. Also, putting it back together, take your time with the side panels. It took me a while getting it lined back up correctly. It also helps if you can find the service manual pages on these panels.

Now that I'm home I will post the instructions from the service manual.

1. Remove the door scuff plate.
2. Remove the quarter trim panel lower pin-type retainer.
3. Fold the rear seat forward, remove the 2 pin-type retainters and rear quarter trim panel.
4. Remove the 4 parcel shelf pin-type retainers.
5. Position the 2 rear seat belts aside and remove the parcel shelf.
6. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

They don't go into very much detail.
