Opinions, please...

I ordered a set of mirror covers, thinking I was going to receive the half cover (small insert type) in chrome. Instead, I received the full cover in chrome. Although the CS is Black, this still seems like a lot of chrome to me. Although, I am old and remember when cars had a LOT of chrome on them. The company admitted the picture on their WEB was in error, and offered to take the parts back.

I did a dry fit, and they don't look bad to me, but then again, they do look a little bright against the black.

For those of you that may have seen them on a Mustang (I have not seen a set installed), what was your opinion?

I am easy going, so be honest.

I'm also an old guy and remember when ALL mirrors where chrome. (Of course, so were bumpers!)

Since you asked, I think the mirrors are pretty large on these cars - personally I wouldn't want them to stand out that much.

But then again, I prefer a solid color interior.

This is really a matter of personal taste: YOURS, and not anyone else's.

You need to decide if they go with the look you're after. I don't like cars that look like the owner just put on as many appearance mods as he can. They should compliment each other. My opinion is that you have to be careful with chrome on modern cars, it can look out of place. Having said that, if you like em, go for it.

I have a black gt/cs. The chrome mirrors look out of place. I also did a test fit and the black body colored inserts look better. Just my opinion but the gt/cs ws meant to be conservative and lethal. Most people think its a V6 heck because it black ...most challengers don't see it until its too late. With the chrome mirrors it kind throws the whole black stripe thing off. Heck i might even consider the deep dish 20 inch all black wheels with the chrome lip to further "sneak people" and blow by them!

I have the full chrome covers on mine now, but it's white with red stripes. They don't stand out near as much as they would on black. I think the covers compliment the chrome wheels and door handles.

IMO, keep them if you have some other exterior chrome. If not, stay with the stealth look and send them back!

Thanks to everyone who responded. I decided to keep them, after seeing them installed, and outside in the light with the polished wheels.

They are an improvement over the factory, and will look much better then the factory mirrors if I decide to paint them in the future.

Cheers,
