Cool "No New GT/CS"?

Hey Gang: I'm hearing some rumors here that there shall be no more GT/CS's offered after the 2009 model run? Can anyone enlighten us on that one?

Also read some of the new 2010 GT pricing values here at TMS on another thread! Wow/Ouch! $40K for a Prem-GT coupe? Holy-Moly folks!!!

Looks like the future new Mustang memberships are going to cost a whole lot more of those hard earned bucks?

That's if anyone working can even still afford to buy a new one in today's down sizing economy? Guess we might find out on all of this very soon!! CalStang

So far, the GT?CS looks to be done for the new updated body. As to the price listed? I find it hard to believe, as the prices are not available to the dealers yet. Trust me on this, as I tried to price on up already, and NO GO. Couldn't do it.

If there's no CS, then I'm sure they'll be something else. But not until 2011, when the novelty of the redesign wears off.

From the posted 2010 order guide it looks like they are simply calling the GT/CS options something else. So no need for a GT/CS if there is nothing left to put on or in the car... My guess is that they will not produce a GT/CS and will at some point when the 400hp 5.0L is released produce a new Mach or Boss... I love my GT/CS... It's funny because the current car's styling has been out there for over 4 years now and I still get a lot of looks. I like the new car too but couldn't wait so I got an '09...

Since each body style has a 5 year shelf life, we will probably have to wait until year three to see special editions. 2001 Bullitt, 2007 GT/CS for example. We'll have to wait till 2012 model year IMO.

Cool "Value Here"

It already has lasting value here at our place!! Hah! Even the Mrs. signs off on that one! Kind of neat to know that we now belong to a small little sub-group. When you compare it to the overall production numbers for all of the S197's!! Every GT/CS owner we have met, has been like a distant cousin. We really don't know each other, but we are friendly family after all! CalStang

I wouldn't mind there NOT being Cali Specials for the 2010's+. Keeps overall production numbers low.

I agree, will make our cars even more special and more to the limited edition theme it was meant to be.

I don't believe they'll have a GT/CS unless they make another Shelby GT, as they come out of Ford as Cal Specials with the specific front & rear facias, and then off to the Shelby factory for remaining mods.

NO GT/CS for 2010

I spoke to a Ford Rep at the "official" 2010 Mustang party and he said no 2010 GT/CS, but he said there will be other special editions coming......

It'll be a cold day in hell when Ford doesn't release several "special editions" of the Mustang.
