New GT/CS, Hi and question.
Just purchased an '09 GT/CS Convertible Dark Candy Apple Red. I'm used to the first gen cars, now enjoying the GT/CS.
First mods I want to do are sequentials which are well documented on how to do.
Question I have is I want to add the Plenum cover and a strut bar. Info. seems sketchy on what will work without washers(spacers). Any recommendations? Any that are best not to scratch the paint? The car drives nice and tight, but the strut tower brace just seems like a good idea to stiffen it up even more.
Scott Drake aluminum strut tower seems cool but not sure on clearance with the plenum. Any help is appreciated.
ALSO. License plate bracket, I have to have a front plate but I requested the front fascia not be drilled. What are you guys using for front plates without drilling the outside fascia?
Thanks,
Sanitycheck

Go with the OEM Bullit strut bar. It will fit perfect with the OEM plenum cover. I have a 2009 GT/CS and I have plenty of clearance without adding washers.
Check with ccmustangbracket.com they have a no drill bracket.

"Welcome Aboard"
Welcome to the Mustang GT/CS Madness! Your going to love it. On the front plate, we've just made a holder and placed the plate in the windshield base on the passeger side. But we live here in Iowa and the police are pretty understanding folks with the car culture crowd! The First Lady is 5' 8" tall, so she does not mind it at all. CalStang

I have the billet Shelby bar (four nuts per side) and guessing it is like or the same as the Drake bar, it will not clear the factory "Appearance Group" plenum shroud ( an extra one of which I have, brand new with the hardware, yours for 60 dollars including shipping - pm me if you want it ).
On my convertible the billet bar is fine, no shroud. On my coupe, with a plenum shroud, I have the Shelby two-tube, four-nuts-per-side bar. It clears the shroud by 5/16ths, easy.

I was peep'n the Shelby Aluminum bar, the Scott Drake one is the same and sold by Shelby Performance parts(also other vendors). Same strut tower brace but no Shelby plate. The two bar Shelby brace does look good.
Thanks for all the welcomes. Waited a while for the new Stang purchase. Wild to drive.
Happy New Year!
If anyone has additional info. post it. I'm going to read up on the forums here and sponge up some info to learn from you guys. Thanks!
Going to put the front plate on the dash for now, I have seen some retractable plate rails on AmericanMuscle.com. Thought I saw someone on one of the forums who made a bracket. Time to search.

Try this link to CC Mustang Brackets. Never had a problem with mine.

You might want to consider this too. Great Product but it has to be notched at the top to fit with the CCMB bracket. It really easy and takes about 15 min with the notch using a Dremel.

Here is another link to a plenum cover. Might want to buy from a forum member.

These install/remove in a couple min and have saved the side of the car from a lot of crap.

825Liter Thanks. The URL worked for the bracket. I was looking at the SHR lower grill. Hmmm what mods does it need? Any pics up here on what to do? I like that bracket - no drilling. Provided my next shopping list. Good choices.
I was looking at a retractable front plate assembly but the bling of that is not necessary, the bracket you guys suggested seems ideal for me.
Roush GT I'll let you know about the Plenum. My car does not have one but I would like to add it with the fuel rail covers. Considering having them painted body color, except the pony and raised portions. Same with the CS strut bar.
I appreciate all the feedback.

I don't think there are any pics. Basically, install the bracket per the directions. Take off the splash shield. Take out the grill trim. Slide the SHR grill in place and mark where material needs to be removed. Remove the SHR grill and cut with either a band saw or a Dremel.
Some say that the SHR grill looks fine without the cut. I cut it anyway.

BMR makes a stb that will fit over the plenum cover without having to use spacers. IMO, its the best looking one since it also happens to be one of the most simple.
