needs some help from the experts ...

ok now that i did allmost every bolt on mod minus throttle body my stock tires are basically spinning from 1 -2 so i want to get some meat in the back the prob is my tsw's are 18 x 8.5 so i can go insaine on with i know the 255 45 wil be a perfect fit buy i want wider... i found pics of guys who went 275/40 and they said they just fit without being to squished that no bigger then 275 ok great but the prob is the 275/40 side wall is 1/2 lower so wont my stocks upfront look weird ? i also found a 265/40 (.4) shotter sidewall and a 265/40 (.6) taller sidewall then stock ...basically i want something like nitto or bfg g force t/a radails that give me that big in the back small in the front look are safe to drive on and will stick ...point me in the right direction like u guys always do

That seems odd. I believe 255/45-18 is the correct diameter, so 265/50-18 would be too tall, unless that's what you're looking for.

You're looking for 27" overall diameter. A 275 width CAN fit a 8.5" rim, but it's not ideal for cornering. If you're looking for straight-line performance, though, it should be fine. 255 is generally the correct width for a 8.5" rim.

I just put on 275/45 17s on stock rims (BFG drag radials, original pattern). I have 255/45 17s on the front. On the stock 8 inchers, the 275s look a little "bulgey?", meaning the sidewall sticks out a little, but It looks pretty rad and I haven't noticed a major change in driveability, other than the sidewall on the drag radial isn't as stiff, so the *** end wallows a tad during really hard cornering......but she hooks up right now......I took some pics, will post in a day or two.

stock tires are 235/50/18 which give them an overall diameter of 27.25"

I have 245/45/18 up front which are 26.68" and 275/40/18's in the back, which are 26.66"

285/40/18's are 26.97" and 265/45/18 are 27.38". But I don't even know if 265/45/18's even exist.

I'd say that 285's would be your best bet. 275's are just fine w/ my wheels, and 285's are less than a half inch wider than that. I wanted 285's but they didn't have them in stock, so I settled for 275's.

I'd go w/ the 285's.

285 is too much for a 8.5" wheel, 275 is doable. There are some tire shops that won't fit oversized tires, though. You should also look at the tread width on the tires you're researching, as some 265s have as much tread as a 275, or as little as a 255.

I don't have any close-ups of them, but I'll try to remember to take a pic tomorrow.

These are the only pictures that I have right now that even show the rear tires from a decent angle. I'll try to find some time tomorrow...
