My baby is sick. :(
I have had a clunk in my driveshaft for a few weeks now and just gets worse and worse. I heard it every single time I engage the tranny in reverse and then again when I put it in drive. Yes, it's an auto.
So I finally have a free day to take her in and now it's 5pm and they still dont have an answer for me. I took her in at 9am and all they said is they have to keep her overnight.
Oh and they got all snippy when I requested a rental car eventhough it's available with my extended warranty. Grrrr....
I think my folks said I could use one of their extra cars, but its such a pain in the rear. Literally!
Keep Black Betty in your thoughts please.

I decided NOT to get a rental only cuz Im using an extra car my parents have. It would have taken me longer to get the rental, return it and go get my car. He said he should have it done before 10am.
Suuuuuuuure somehow I dont believe they will be done anywhere near 10am.

Here is the prognosis:
R&R DRIVE SHAFT - LUBED SLIP JOINT AT CENTER OF SHAFT - R&R AND RETORQUED FRONT JOINT FLANGE - ROAD TESTED - OK
Basically all they did was pack it in with lithium grease. Clunk is gone. Lets see how long it lasts.

I got an auto for a couple of reasons. I didnt want to think about grinding gears all over Los Angeles traffic, and not being 100% perfect at manual (always had autos) I didnt want to practice on a new Stang
