How Long Must I Wait?

Hey everyone. I am soon to be a first-time Mustang owner! I'm so excited I can barely sleep. I placed my order for a vista blue gt/cs on 10/9 and wanted to know about how long it might take to get here (Central Coast of California)? The dealer said about 6-8 weeks but it seems like it took longer for others.

Thanks.

-Ryan.

6 weeks here, I know the feeling, I was the same way. My friends would not talk to me because all I wanted to talk about was my car coming...lol
Good luck my friend, you'll love it when it comes in.
there are ways to track your car from Ford... do a search for the ERL ( evil robot lady..lol. or go back in the GT/CS section to about mid July of 06 and find some of my posts. lots of details there.)

BTW, welcome to TMS. give us some info on what you ordered...ie: interior, extras, etc.

P.S. Gotta love the Vista Blue!!!!!

How long do you have to wait?

Too long. At least thats what it will seem like. Expect a year, and when it gets there sooner you'll be extremely happy. I just got my CS about 2 weeks ago, now has 800 miles and i put 795 of them on it.

Hey Ryan,
Congratulations and thanks for your service to our country!

I ordered mine on 9/18/2008 Here is my dates from Ford...

Receipt Date:9/18/2008
Serialize Date:9/19/2008
Segment Date:9/19/2008
Sequence Date:9/23/2008
Blend Date:10/1/2008
Produced Date:
Gate Release Date:
Ship Date:
Arrival Date:
Sold Date:

Between the Blend Date and the Produced Date is about 7-12 days so mine should be built already or very shortly. The dealer called and said it would be in on October 28th but it could slip a few days... With the economy being what it is and also factor in they are only going to build 50k 2009's they are moving pretty darn quick... A lot faster than I thought...

Hope this helps...

/Matt

10 weeks for me but that was a couple of years ago. I hope you don't have to wait that long. What ever happens, it's worth it!

I have to say Ray Man that your pics of the FRPP exhaust is what convinced me that I had to get it. You have an amazing ride.

Talking Build Date

All you need to do is supply your VIN number from the dealer and I can track it thru the system.

Normally about six weeks although it was seven months for me in 2005 as the creator of the IUP feature was in a lawsuit action with Ford at the time and those of us with the IUP feature had to wait.

Every Thursday I get to see a new Office episode and then I know that I am one more week closer to my Mustang. This really is the longest wait! I can't believe its only been two weeks this Thursday. I guess that will make arrival day that much better. It is a little troubling that I have not heard anything from the dealer yet...

The dealer should get you your VIN by now... I would call and ask. I did and they got my the VIN and was able to track. Forget my earlier question you oredered on the 9th... I would suspect that yours should be built this week or next...
