How to choose a tune?

I read alot about getting a tune from many of you guys on several different sites and everyone has their own opinion on where to get a tuner and who to purchase it from ,websites or locally at a auto store etc.

I would like to hear why i should buy online vs. an auto store and what specs i need to give to the company tuning it and what can expect from it after plugging it in and last but not least can i do this myself! I am somewhat car savvy but certainly not a mechanic by any means. Do these come with step by step instructions?

Help and opinions!!!!!!

You can always check into the tunes from American Muscle now that they are affilated with Bama Chips. You can used your discount to purchase the tuner and tune. I got my tune from Doug at Bama Chips.

My 2007 Tune was from Bama. I was happy with it (See Sig).

It will be easy to install. So is a Cold Air Intake I if you want to install one at the same time (Most CAI require a matching tune since they increase the size of the Mass Air Flow Tube requiring modification to the MAF Transfer Tables to keep air/fuel ratio correct).

Installing a tune from a SCT Programmer (You would choose Custom instead of Preloaded).

Thanks. I was thinking Brenspeed or Bama. I hear good about both. I installed a K+ N CAI several months ago and other than that this car already had catback flowmaster exhaust on it. Not sure if anything else was done before i purchased it?

So i just tell them any specifics done to the car as far as i know what was done and they give me the best tune for those Mod's. correct?. They all seem to be similar in price so i may as well order the Bama tune.

Thanks for your input! I'll let ya know.

Er, discount, did you say? Please elaborate -- I was not aware of this. I'm going to be getting a CAI + tuner soon myself.

Thanks Ron. I was torn between Bama and Brenspeed. I read up on both and both are good but Bama seems to be known for most of their gains at lower end and Brenspeed after 3g which is what i was looking for so i just ordered a custom tune from Brenspeed.

Hope i love it!

PS. i ordered already from brenspeed today. No discount now ha? Didn't think of that before. Oh well let me know!

If you look at CAIs...DONT GET THE BBK. I've had Stupid Lean codes forever now resulting in the Check Engine Light coming on :/
So BBK pre-tuned CAIs are no go
