well, does sound a bit dodgy to me, sounds like something I might have done when I was a teenager! LOL Well with theres new mustangs everything is electronic so when you fiddle with the air intake it can reel havic with preformance. When I upgraded my 2005 GT, when you add an intake you have to retune the computer. I would spend the money and buy the proper tuner and intake upgrade. At the end you have a great looking kit that you can remove one day and put the original undamaged parts back on. But thats just my opinion.

I would be afraid of too much air in the intake.

I would not damage your factory airbox if I were you. Just buy a CAI and put your airbox aside. It takes about 15 mins to install a CAI.

The Saleen w/ 475 HP kit cuts out the bottom of the airbox for more air volume.. It works!!
