Merry Christmas to everyone! I gave the Mustang a cleaning kit this year, and my brother gave me an awesome first aid/roadsize hazard assistance kit. Let us not forget to be safe out there.

Cool Ho! Ho! Ho! "MC"

And a Wonderful Christmas back to all of our fellow good TMS Brethren out here this fine great day!

We here in "SW" Iowa and the surrounding areas are presently having a Christmas blizzard that will surely go down in to the history books! Everything here has now been pretty much completely cancelled! it's a complete white out with 30-40 MPH "NW" winds and more even snow arriving tonight and tomorrow too. Three foot snow drift out at the roadside mailbox, when I went out and checked yesterday's mail for the Mrs.!!

The first Lady is currently making her wonderful scrambled eggs and pork sausage burritos with American cheeze and Tiger sauce! We are Welsh-German Americans, but those tasty breakfast burritos with some hot coffee is oh so good on a cold and wintery Christmas morning!

We have four adult children, but everyone is also snowed in, so the Mrs. talks to them all on the phone this morning and reschedules her Christmas dinner for later on.

Will watch some Christmas DVD movies and still have a most wonderful time here today!! And you do the same!! CalStang

Wishing all a fulfilling End-Of-Year Season of Excess, and happier New years.

When I was in the Air Force I knew a fellow from Redfield, Iowa, which he claimed was "The Most Industrialized Small Town in Southwest Iowa". I wondered if it were true then and if it is true now, or if Redfield has become a ghost town.

Yesterday I had to mow the front grass so I could put on my flip-flops and shorts and wash one of the un-garaged cars that had been neglected since the Sunday night almost-a-measurable-amount of rain had made mud from the dust.

Cheers!

Having once lived in San Diego myself I will say you are a very lucky man Frank, with the almost perfect weather everyday!! We went back again a few years ago to visit and really loved our stay. But the real down side of it all, was that San Diego is such a very spendy place to be!! Seems like they over charged for almost everything out there but the air itself. She does love the Cabrillo and Point Loma areas though!! Enjoy Bro! CalStang

Cool 2009 "Christmas Day" Blizzard Pictures

Forwarding some "No Bull" pictures taken at our place here in Iowa today after the Midwest's 2009 Christmas Day Blizzard! just for your great viewing pleasures!

This time of the year we almost love our big Ol' 4X4 as much as we do the GT/CS Mustang! Well I said almost did I not? Note two things. How tall the snow pile is next to our vistors SUV and the yard stick placed next to the snow. Just crazy I say!! Snow anyone?

Anyone else have more area shots of this big snow storm to share here with the rest of TMS gang? CalStang

Here are some pics of the Oklahoma Christmas Eve blizzard.

My baby buried in the snow.

The snowbank in front of my house was 4 feet deep.

On the 16th, a few days after a couple inches of rain fell near the coast and a few inches of snow fell in the local (20 to 30 miles east and north) mountains, I made a three-hour, 120-mile "circle" from and to my home in San Diego via Mount Palomar, Santa Ysabel, and Cuyamaca. At Palomar there was still snow in the shaded gullies, and from the south grade you could see the bay, Point Loma, and the Coronado Islands off Baja California. That was a wonderful, spirit-raising episode. Not least enjoyable was the near-absence of traffic on the twisty sections, so I could do some full-face grins and hustle along at six-tenths or so. An absolute delight.

Yes, it is relatively expensive, and will be even more difficult in coming years, as water runs out and Southern California returns to the desert it should be. No luck involved, though: I chose to live here.

Twas the Night Before Christmas -
Mustang Style
'Twas the night before Christmas and out in the garage,
There wasn't a trace of a Honda, Toyota, or Chevy

The presents were wrapped and the lights were all lit,
So I figured I'd mess with my Mustang for a bit.
I popped the release and lifted the hood,
When a deep voice behind me said "looks pretty good."
Well, as you can imagine, I turned mighty quick,
And there, by the workbench, stood good ol Saint Nick!
We stood there a bit, not too sure what to say,
Then he said "don't suppose that you'd trade for my sleigh?
"No way, Santa" I said with a grin,
"But if you've got the time we can go for a spin!"

His round little mouth, all tied up like a bow,
]Turned into a smile and he said "Sure! Let's go!!"
So as not to disturb all the neighbors' retreat,
We quietly pushed the Mustang out to the street,

Then, taking our places to coast down the hill,
I turned on the key and I let the clutch spill.
The sound that erupted took him quite by surprise,
But he liked it a lot, by the look in his eyes.

With tires a' screaming and exhaust pipes aglow,
We headed on out to where the hot rodders go.
And Santa's grin widened, approaching his ears,
With every shift up as I banged through the gears.

Then he yelled "can't recall when I've felt so alive!"
So I backed off the gas and asked Santa if he wanted to drive.
Ol Santa was stunned when I gave him the keys,
When he walked past the headlights he shook at the knees!

The Mustang exploded with loud exhaust sound!
And when Santa let out the clutch and the tires shook the ground!
Power shift into second, again into third!
I sat there just watching, at loss for a word,

Then I heard him exclaim as we blasted from sight,
"Merry Christmas to all, it's one hell of a night!!!"

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!
