Impossible to tell the difference during the day. How 'bout one factory one Silverstar nightime shot so we can see the difference?

Is that "antenna" one of the stubs that comes screwed into the base from the factory?

Yeah. We talked about doing that last year. I tried to find the thread, but it was too long ago.

I decided to get a spare antenna, cut the mast off, then round it off and just screw the base in there. Just gives it a cleaner look, IMO.

Someone had a great idea the other day that since the base of the stock antenna is so huge, Ford should use it as the sattelite radio antenna and then just keep the regular antenna on top of it.

I was thinking that as well.
For now, I am using my aftermarket Sirius radio that I had from before. I velcored the antenna on the carpet of the rear shelf and stuffed the extra wire under the back seats.
It all tucks in nicely and feeds into the receiver that is now in the larger cupholder.

Great idea. I'm sure that looks a LOT better than having it on the trunk lid.

I purposely decided against the sat radio option - due to the look of that hugh antenna on the trunk lid! You'd think Ford could have used a bit more stealth with the antenna placement......and I bet there's a nice little hole right under the antenna - just in case you want to relocate it
