GT CS with Ram Air Shaker

GT CS with Ram Air Shaker
Has anyone removed the hood scoop and installed a Ram Air Shaker? I'm assuming it is the best option instead of a cold air intake. I'm also assuming that the cut-out on the hood is within the drilled holes of the hood scoop.

I have the same question about the cut out on the hood and the drilled holes. I think that it will work if the drilled holes are within that rectangular indented area under the center of the hood. I'll have to check under my hood today.
Respect wise the functional Shaker hood gets more approval than the non-functional hood scoops that come with the GT Appearance package.
However, the Shaker hood only adds about 5 hp. Some have reported a loss in horsepower! The cold air intake will add about 15 hp and you get to keep that cool engine cover!
My favorite CAI system is from Western Motorsports. Check it out!

There is a long and spirited debate about the Shaker in this thread.

Although the Shaker would add more horsepower if a K&N filter was added to the stock air box.

Another factor to consider is the cost. The Shaker cost $800 and you can easily get a CAI system for less.
Some have combined the CAI and the Shaker but the plumbing gets complicated.
Some have even added superchargers and the Shaker. Although by that point the Shaker is merely for show, much like our "non-functional" hood scoops.
Even the "non-functional" scoops serve the purpose of making the car look more agressive. Just like stripes, and spoilers and scoops on the '67 and '68 Shelbys.
