Engine Cut out completely on acceleration

I have a 2008 Ford Mustang CS with 2.3 TVS Supercharger that appears to run great with no warning lights and sounds good with no knocks. However, today it completely cut out on acceleration. It was like the engine disappeared for a second. I have to admit I was laying into it. It also appeared to back fire during the event. This only happened once so far. Other than the one event, the engine sounds and runs fine, but I am now a little afraid to get into the boost.

Can anyone tell me what happened?

Did you have your traction control on or off? I suspect that's the culprit.
