If money is no concern, Michelin makes the best tires out there IMO. The Pilot Sport AS Plus tires on my '08 Bullitt perform better than the BFG Sport Comp 2 summer tires I had previously. I've also had Pirelli P-Zero Nero AS, Goodyear Eagle GT, and Cooper RS3-S on my '06 and '07 GT's and the Michelin's are in a totally different class.

I was very happy with the Cooper RS3-A tires on Awesome, and if they had made 275/40-18s, that's what'd be on her today when I put the 2010 GT500 vert wheels on her.
But alas.
I wound up getting something else, and I won't even bother tellin' ya, because while they're all season, and they do grip some, they aren't the Coopers, and they are some noisy dang tires.
They sure do *look* pretty tho... So there's that.

The only thing I'm disappointed in is I don't think I'll get 36k like you did. I was expecting 40k+. I drive some two lane twisties pretty aggresive that have this chip seal surface. The local BFG shop said that'll wear em down. I think I'll be lucky to get 30-32k. I'm at 27.5 now and the bars are getting closer.
EDIT: PS: and I rotate my tires every 5k and regularly check air pressure to get maximum mileage. But...
So the other I'm looking at is the Mich's Pilot Sport A/S.

I have the exact car as you Ken2014. I went with the Goodyear Eagle GT A/S in the stock size and am thoroughly satisfied. We went on a 5,000+ miles trip to the west coast last year and hit all kinds of weather extremes. Most notable was a torrential downpour in Alabama. The tires were flawless!! They handle extremely well in dry and wet with superb traction. A comfortable ride with no road noise.
In comparison I bought the BFG G-force A/S for my Trans Am last year and although a decent tire, not up to par with the Goodyear. I would have bought the Goodyear for my T/A but they didn't make them in 16" anymore. I will get the Goodyears again in a heartbeat for the GT/CS. In all sincerity I compare them favorably with the Michelin PS A/S I had on my old '95 911 a few years back. That's saying a lot. You won't go wrong with either the Michelin or Goodyear IMO. They are expensive but there is a reason why.

The A/S 3 is also designed to improve dry handling and is on par with some other tire companies summer tires.
The NT555's on my car are about ready for a change and due to the limited availability of 285/40R18's I'm gonna give the A/S 3's a try and see if Michelin's claims are true.
I ran the A/S+ on an older Mustang and really liked it as an all-season tire.
