And you didn't snap a few pics? For shame! It would have been a first here at TMS... no, really.

Yeah, kinda like my first wife...

But to answer your question, no. Tomorrow (6/22) is what I've been told now for about 2 weeks. I'm hoping it will arrive on time, but to tell you the truth, Friday would be OK. I'd still have it for the weekend. Monday would be a disappointment, but hey, I'd never talk bad about Mondays for the rest of my days!

Do we have ravives in New Jersey? Just a gut feeling, but I think this story is about a real as the word 'ravive'...

(Pokikng funn at you. I'm famuous for tipos, too!)

Besides, I have boy scouts with big bladders lined up along every ravine in New Jersey just waiting for the command to 'open fire'.

Well, Say Hey, Cheeseball, when did you order it? You may very well be right. Nice color combo, I must say.

Can you say... 3D Carbon?

Thursday, May 22nd... 9am-ish. Like the poster with the two buzzards perched on the limb used to say: "Patience my a$$, I'm gonna kill something!"

So today is supposed to be 'the day'. For me, anyway. Customer Service is sticking to their guns that the car will arrive today. My dealership says otherwise (like Mon/Tue next week). And what of Ed Miller? (ISELLFORD). Sitting out there in IL and still does not have his Grabber Vert.

I'm sitting here wearing the ugliest shirt I own and can get away with at work. Sorta like when baseball players turn their caps inside out and backwards for good luck. I figgur if I look like crap, I'LL GET THE CALL! If it doesn't happen, there's always tomorrow...

Ed! How ya holdin' up there, buddy? Grab another cup o' joe and we'll wait this crap out together.

Meanwhile, somewhere in America, another Grabber Orange GT is posted for auction on eBay...

My apologies for not snapping pictures but my cell phone doesn't do pics and my wife had our digital camera with her.

But you don't need pictures, do you? I figured you have a very good idea of what Grabber Orange looks like.

I sure hope today is the day for you and your new beloved.

LOL, I've got the Grabber Orange all figured out. What would be cool to see is the 'execution' of the aftermarket stripes. Some sets look good, some look bad, if you know what I mean. I even did a mock-up of G.O. and the '69 paint scheme:

As much as I love the paint scheme of the 69 Boss, I have problems with it on the S197 body style due to the "scoop-ish" part of the body panel on the rear fenders. It just doesn't look right to me. Probably because I am used to seeing the 69 and 70 body styles only sporting those stripes and they have different fender panel style than the s197.

On the wait for delivery issue. Be hopeful that the dealership doesn't call and say "Your car arrived but we already sold it to someone else. Sorry." Of course at least you'd be within your legal rights to go postal!

That will never happen. I'm down there so much, the floor manager asks me to "fill out my (invisible) timecard" when I walk in the door. The order number is R001... so, like me or not, they know who I am (but I think they like me?).

I agree with you about the C-stripe which is why I've decided to do absolutely no exterior mods for 1 full year. I know as soon as I do, something will come out that I'll wish I'd done differently. So more patience is required. I'm just going to enjoy the car...

I wish you the best on getting the vehicle in today! Just promise to take a breather long enough to snap some pics and upload them here between grin inducing drives! I know I am getting antsy about getting one and I haven't even placed the order!! hha

Thanks, shatter, but no GT for me today. A good chance it will arrive tomorrow, but could be Mon/Tue.

I swear your gonna go nuts and drive towards Flat Rock until you see a huge glob of orange and then cause a nice big accident so you can jack your car off the back.

I'm bad, just don't believe I'm THAT bad. Well, maybe. I just hope it does not come in on the ex-wife's birthday (June 27). Or maybe it should, then I can park it in her driveway with a big red bow on it. When she pulls up from work, I jump into the car and drive away.

Now that's some devilish poo right there. But what did you expect from a car that was built 6/6/6?

Nothing yet today. I was by last night and they got in TWO '07's. A black GT vert and a black V6 Pony Pkg. Everything else was '06's. Maybe this afternoon my phone will ring, but I can tell you had it arrived this morning, they would have called me without hesitation.

If it was released on 6/15 and you add the 9 days they show as travel time on the dealer invoice, that would put it at 6/24, or Saturday. They don't get trucks on the weekends, so if not today, then Mon/Tue/Wed for sure.

If it comes Tuesday, I will not take delivery until Wednesday. I will not even go see the car. 6/27 is the ex-wife's B-day. That coupled with the fact the car was produced on 6/6/6... I don't think I could take it.

On the other hand, I did receive a 1975 penny from Dunkin Donuts when I bought my coffee this morning. I graduated in '75 and that has to be an omen right? (Grasping for straws now...)

In my mind I've already decided to self-update my delivery date to 6/28 (next Wednesday).

Meanwhile...

Why no Tuesday pick-up? For the rest of your life, you will see June 27 as one thing only: your ex's B-day, which will unfairly cast a negative light on the date. Why not change it up? Switch June 27 from an unhappy day to an awesome day! From that day forward, whenever that day rolls around on the calendar, you'll think of your car, and not the ex.

(But thanks for thinking of it...)

I agree with mudshuvel. Don't let memories of your ex ruin your new car. If it comes in Tuesday, definitely pick it up and enjoy it. You are so excited about this car, don't let something like that ruin it for you.

Even with a date like 9/11, despite the terrible attacks on that date, plenty of people still celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, etc. Life goes on and so should you.

Have either of you two been married? AND divorced? I'll wait the extra day. Besides, Davey Allison drove the #28 car for Yates... can't be all bad.

Well, I agree that 27 can be a bad number. For example, the next Yankees World Series win will be number 27, and the Yankees suck, so that would make it a bad number.

I'm still happily married to the same woman I have been for nearly 14 years, so I guess I'm blessed in that regard.

As for 27 being a bad number, I guess I can try to think up a reason for that, too. So hopefully the 26th or 28th is your delivery date.
