Getting my GO in a week!

New member here, been lurking for about a year. Finally bit the bullet and will be picking up my 07 Grabber orange GT next friday. It is a premium GT with IUP, 3.55 gears, manual 5 sp and spoiler delete.

Dealer I'm buying from is 600 miles away. Jumping on Amtrak thursday night, will arrive in the twin cities friday morning, and will drive it home.

Just had to share, very excited. Hopefully all the ice will be melted off the highways around here by then.

I own a '70 mustang which i haven't had on the road in 15 years. Really looking forward to the new one.

congrats!! you plan on driving it year round in that crappy winter weather? I used to live in Duluth, MN I am SURE you know of it! man winters sucked .. I would only drive my sports cars after ALL the snow melted and soon as the first flakes would arrive it would sit in the garage .. but I had to get out of the cold and moved to south Texas where I can all year oh and hey! you picked the right color!

Thanks! Yep I plan on it being my daily driver. I drove my '70 year round when i was in college. Mild 351C with bald tires, kinda hairy at times. They thankfully don't salt the roads here. If we get to much snow I have four 4x4's to choose from. Here's my snow toy, a '72 Jeep Commando with a 472 caddy. Gotta finish rebuilding the doors for it so I can put the soft top on.

800 miles in one weekend. Crazy man. I've had mine since late July and I only have 1700 miles on it and it is more or less now going to get put away for the Winter.

Congratulations on your exquisite taste. The best part is that the color is featured on the sales brochures. If you can find them. I just now got a copy this weekend.

Thanks everyone. It's my first new vehicle purchase and I'm 36. Been thinking about buying one for a long time. The clincher was leaving work a couple weeks ago in my '88 Grand Wagoneer and having my right rear tire pass me at a high rate of speed. Told myself that I'm done wrenching on my old junk for awhile after that.

Was a fun trip, stopped at a different dealer than the one I bought the car from and they had a GT500 and a Ford GT. First of each that I have seen in person. Also the dealer I bought the car from gave me a brochure with the grabber on the cover, and I didn't even have to ask for it.

Well now off to put another couple hundred miles on it, need to go get plates. A person can really rack up the miles living in the middle of nowhere. Closest McDonalds is 100 miles away.

Yep, lot's of plans for mods. It'll take some time to do them all, as I"m not made of money. First mod will be a hurst shifter which I'll probably order this week. Then pulleys, exhaust and a C&L CAI with either a Brenspeed or Bama tune, not sure which one yet.

Further down the line, hopefully by spring will be a few understated appearance mods. Chin spoiler, shaker with the 69-70 style hood blacked out of course and hood pins. No stripes of any kind for me, just my personal taste. Possibly some black bullits or Magnum 500's. And maybe some eibach springs, though I don't want to hurt my 1/4 times.

Real long term plans include possible forced induction. Just have to balance out the budget with other car projects i have, makes it real tough.

LOL, I know the feeling. I grew up next door to you in Malta, Montana. 70 miles to a McDonalds, 90 miles to a mall, 200 miles to a Walmart or Sams Club, and the list goes on and on.

Holy cripes people. Get yourself a U-Haul and move to some civilization. No one needs *that* much wilderness except the unibomber...

Wait a minute... I think I've seen that look before? Nope, sorry. Just my imagination.

Nice addition to the stable!! Enjoy that beast and keep us updated with your mods.
