You know, inside I am excited, but I have been poker faced about it with the dealer, IMHO. I have also kept it a secret from everyone at work and in my neighborhood. I'm going for the jaws open pretty wide effect...So, in a way I am kind of thick skinned about it...But I know that once I know that it is in the dealer's hand, I won't be able to sleep....or work...

Waiting for the look on my dealer's face when he sees me install my first mod before it leaves the lot. That's right, the 14" shorty antenna...

Well, 2055888 has arrived at the dealer and should be ready for pickup when I come over there at 9 AM on Friday.

I only had the phone camera available, so I will upload some pics from there, but they came out a little yellow on the phone. Sure didn't look yellow in person...

I think that the hood looks great on the vert, and I think that I love the rims and the cloth top...

Cool; Went to dealer to (I thought) pick up the car. Sales guy says that they still have an hour of stuff left to do on it. I told him to just do it while I am at work, and I will pick it up this afternoon. Meanwhile, figure out if I need a new rack and pinion steering in my 149K Mountaineer while I borrow this piece of crap Taurus...

I will be doing the Meguillars NXT on Saturday (did you wind up using polish before?) to perform my body inspection. We will settle the check on Monday...I should get pics loaded by Sunday...

 

You know, I was clearing out some cobwebs in mah brain today and I realized Ford had the McLaren Mustang back in the mid 80's. While it is officially a 37 year gap between production Grabber Orange Stangs, this color is certainly very close to GO. It's not just me, riiiiight? If I remember correctly, these were 5.0's.

And yes, '69 Mach 1', it WAS Valencia Yellow. Put the stick down now...

I picked up 205588 today! Dealer didn't even want to spend any time going over anything on it because I guess they technically still own it until my wife returns from CA and we can sign the papers.

Wouldn't you know that it would be thunderstorming here this afternoon, so I will have to drive it home in the rain anyway. I guess it doesn't matter because I am going to clean her up tomorrow and put the Meguillars NXT on it to do my body inspection.

Great wicked fun to drive, but unfortunately I had to drive it to work (where I am now). Anyone find the depth of the guages a problem in the sunlight? Hard for me to read the battery guage, etc in the IUP...It had 4.9 miles on it when I picked it up.

Also I was wondering about installation of the rear plates on your cars which were delivered. They left my plates off because I was telling them not to drill anything. Surprising that all that Ford does at the plant is put a little pilot dimple in the back plate where someone is expected to drill with a drill bit into the fiber. Can't they come up with an install which has the holes countersinked with some hardware? Anyone else have an issue with a raw drill bit going into the back of your car?

Other people on other forums have complained about the Sirius and the scoop install being rough. I took a look at them and I think that they are clean enough...

Congrats on the Delivery, I want a Cigar!!!!! The plate screws are self taping & just go right in the plastic, I didn't have to use a drill, just screw them in & back out before you put on the plate & all should be fine.

Boy, with the Wife out of town, you can go Crusing for Chicks!!!!!

Boy, is it just me or is there a significant burn in smell with these units? And no, I was not driving with the parking brake on or riding the clutch..

Frustrating ride home due to so many red lights being out because of the storm. When I could have been shifting, I was just rolling...

My son sees a parking lot...he sees our Mustang, and he says "That's a nice Mustang", not knowing that it is ours. I said, well it should be, its ours! He loved the ride home with the top down. The dog had a good sniff..Time to get some dinner...Tomorrow, break out the wax...
