Truck Driver, "Who gets the orange Mustang?" -- Me, "That sir, would be me" ;-)

Its here!

Took it from the dealer with no prep. Took some pictures then took it home. A nice bath, some more pictures and then a drive.

Picked it up at the dealer with 2.3 miles on it. Now it has 80.

The car fits me perfectly. I made the right decision.

Some of the of the pics show the car with a rear louver. I did not have time to attached it tonight, I just layed it on the glass to see how it would look. I like it!!

Stay tuned for more pics as the mods are installed.

She's looking sweet. If it were me, I would ditch the louver. Looks more like "Disco Stu" than "Huggy Bear"...

Alan, did your mama drop you on your head when you wuz a little boy? Mark's been waiting for his ride to come in and you're bashing the louvers? LOL, you're one tough sonofb*tch, LOL. Doesn't the Parnelli Jones Special Edition from Saleen come with louvers? Perhaps he's going for that look. Plus, it's a 'dry fit', which means it may get painted before permanently installed.

I love you, man, but don't go bashin' a brother on Day 1...

Mark, MC Hammer has a word for your car... PROPAH! Enjoy it!!!

I was afraid that you folks might take it that way. Sorry about that. Sometimes my mouth runs over.

Am I allowed to say that I love the extra stitching on the dash and I wish that I had ordered that? LOL...

Hey, you know I think of all of you like my second cousins. I'm going to be frank with you because we're "family" now. Now, to go "rub out" those nasty "Jets"....

Hey Alan, dont worry. I'm a big boy. I can take the criticism of my style choices. The rear louver will be part of my vision of an integrated look. Once I have the new rear spoiler, stripes and quarter window louvers installed, I think the look will all "come together" for my vision of something between Mach 1 and Boy Racer.

I know some folks wont like the style of my car but thats ok with me. I hope mine will standout from the crowd (as if the bright orange color wasent enough!)

You are right about the dash. The stitching really looks great. Much better in person compared to the photo. The interior really looks great.

One thing I have learned very quickly is that mud flaps are a necessity! Just driving through a tiny bit of water is enough to dirty the rear quarter panels. I ordered those tonite.

Hopefully I can get the wing and louver on sometime this week and the stripes in the next 2 weeks or so.

Now I'm off to go buy my SCT tuner.

I've had mine a week. I put the 87 and 91 tunes in on Friday. The 93 tune went in last night. Octane is currently 92 +/-. I'll run this tank out and start to scrutinize on the next tank.

All I gotta say is this should be everyone's first mod for the S197. A different car. I've got the Brenspeed tunes and I'm using a K&N drop in filter (no CAI as I'm not sure where the future takes me: N/A with cams -or- twin screw blower).

If you think you're excited about the way your car is gonna look, wait until you drive it with the re-flash. Hooboy!

Yeah, I can tell right now that our tastes are very different. Just like *****, we all got an opinion... I put mud flaps on my '95 stang and vowed later that I would never do that again. I felt that it took away from the look....But it sounds like this is a daily driver for you. See, me I never would intend to take the car out under a circumstance under which I would drive through any water...

What you have to watch out for is the brake dust. I have one or two very fine scratches on my back bumper just from me cleaning it when there was brake dust on the bumper when I couldn't see it. I think that the orange does a good job of hiding the brake dust. I have to be more diciplined and spray off the bumper first...

Have fun with her. Sounds like you intend to make your grand entrance soon...

Stan, what's your opinion on doing that pre or post gear mod? I figure that doing SCT would be a waste until I get rid of the 3.31's....

The gears are not a big deal. When you upload the custom tune, you can optionally set the gears on the fly. So you can get the tune now, and gears later, and not need new tunes.

Speaking of new tunes, I will. I picked up the phone and ordered my CAI from Brenspeed today. I was running the K&N panel filter which incidently, isn't that far off from a CAI. I figured I might as well just go ahead and pick one up as I have decided NOT to do cams or blower for years to come. So I guess I'll be set.

Thumbs up

Congratz !!!

I know what you mean with the mudfaps. The moulded rears save the paint a ton...
(Winter here, sand and grit along with the snow/slush and -28°C)

Too bad there is not moulded fronts, so just got the flat ford logo front ones. As for looks, not a choice in it, but to save the paint. They can come off in the spring/summer in like 15 min.. so not worried really.

First thing the day I got it, pulled the 18"s and put the mudflaps on.
(got a smokin deal on a set of '05 GT rims used for $300.00 Canadian)
Blizzack skins on them.

I bought my car to drive, not hang on the wall LOL

I will be looking into painting my body kit parts soon...well after x-mas for sure...But will not be putting those on until after the snow melts...

Hey Safarisun, I hope you don't mind, but I wanted to see what the louvers looked like painted black. I used your car for some 'chopping....I kind of got carried away, with the tail light and rear panel blackouts, window tinting and darker wheels, lol....anyway, I'll remove it if you want me to. Nice car by the way.

Hey Safarisun, do you know already what color / type / size / spacing stripes you're going with? Just curious. The more and more I think about color choice for myself I am coming back home to the GO on the cover of the accessory brochure, but with quarter-window louvers and wider striping...we shall see we shall see.

And guys, is the stitching standard or are you saying that is a particular interior choice / option? I still haven't figured out the difference between Satin and Charcoal instrument panels, 67D 67L; or else, nobody is taking pictures of the Charcoal one.
