I cant wait to get more info on this. Nothing like business being terrible to make the execs rethink some previous decisions. Hopefully it wont be just non functional add ons and no meat for more $$.

Ford also recently collaborated with the racing legend on the Shelby GT-500, an ultra high-performance Mustang that sells for about $40,000 and the Ford GT super car, which goes for about $140,000
About 40K! Obviously he hasn't tried to buy one.

Hopefully this will normalize the GT500 market.

I can't see why it would, frankly. The performance will be minimal, equivalent to what one can do themselves by adding Ford Racing Performance parts to a standard GT.

The Shelby GT will just give dealers another reason to tack on ADMs.

Maybe some of the knuckleheads that think the GT500 is an instant collectible will realize that Ford is going to produce a ton of cars with Shelby's name on them. I seriously think the next Lightning will be a Shelby Truck (A very fast one, I am sure)

Yep. As word spreads of the new new thing with a Shelby name, there will be downward pressure on GT500 pricing.

Just wait until a GT500KR or GT650 is announced.

The GT500 is clearly not the last Shelby. And the new Shelby won't be the last Shelby. The last Shelby comes a year or so after Shelby dies...and Ford will claim that Shelby had input before his passing.

No "instant collectibles" around here.

I hadn't thought of a Shelby truck. That's a good idea.

Even the most hardcore, blue oval flag waiver has to realize that this is all about maximum unit sales and has been from day one.

Remember when the ford reps stated, in clear, concise terms, that they would build and deliver as many as the public would consume?

Over zealous enthusiasts willing to cough up a premium because of "limited" production misconceptions need to wake up and face the reality which is abudantly clear. This is unlimited production of a Ford vehicle in quantites to meet and not likely to exceed what will clear the market wihtout significant incentives.

Use your head, be patient, pick your flavor, and buy at a price that you are comfortable with. It is no more complicated than this.

Your point is a good one. I mean, does anybody seriously believe that this will be the last GT500..? Expect to see a Shelby version of the 2010 Stang (the one with hips), that will definitely put downward pressure on the current GT500's "collector value," in spite of what dealers try to tell you now.
