What's the ratio of coupes vs. converts to be built?

My apologies if this has been asked many times.

Has it been decided already?

I would guess it has.

Here are the percentages from the ordering guide:

V6 Mustange Coupe: 45%
GT Coupe: 20%
V6 Convertible: 17%
GT Convertible: 18%

GT/CS: 5%

I think he means for the GT500 since this is a GT500 forum. I am guessing its still up in the air unless all the dealers have put in their orders.

Ford said it did not matter. They would build whatever. I don't remember where that was printed, but, I'm sure I saw it on here.

Another question regarding the convertibles...

Did Ford say why they chose to not make avaialble the wide body stripes on the 'vert?

IMHO it should be an option like on the 1966-1970 Shelby 'verts.

Actually, it is my understanding that they were not avail on the GT500 verts.

Yes, your right. Ford said it wasn't an option in 68 so they're not making it an option in 07. They felt braking up the big strip didn't look right.

I say make it an option and let the customer decide.

I thought I saw the over the hood/rear deck stripes on one of the 6 'verts Shelby had built for close friends and family back in 1966, but maybe it was on the 12 continuation converts or so he had built around 1980.

I agree, let the customer decide, and if Ford doesn't want to mess with it, let it be a 'dealer installed option' so to speak.

Ford doesn't get the fact we've had "stripe buildup" in our systems for decades and we need 'em on those 'verts!-

I would imagine that you could get them dealer installed. I'm sure they can get them from parts and have the body guys put them on. The question would be whether or not the trunk lid is the same on the verts and coupes.

Good point, it would be better for resale if Ford lent some authenticity to the dealer adding stripes by making it it an 'official dealer installed option' in their Shelby literature...for lack of a better term.
