I just Stumbled over the Price on The 07 GT-500 Clutch Kit. It Looks to be a Multi Disc Unit! Suggested Retail $1659.47 OUCH!!!!!!!!

Even if you could afford the car, thats a bit on the ridiculous side. Im sure someone will come out with a replacement for a lot less soon.

 

you need a good clutch to manage the power. its not like ford was like..."what is the most expensive clutch we can put in this car?"

Just outta curiousity, what does the stock Mustang GT one cost?

 

Given the ridiculous prices most dealers are asking, this doesn't seem so surprising. It seems fitting. Remember, the two plastic hood vents go for what, $240.00+ apiece? Still, at that price that clutch better be good.

 

Any idea what replacement brake pads/discs retail for?

 

I've got a clutch on my 5.0 that is rated at 800HP. It was $250. That price is highway robbery. Ford probably gets it for $150.

 

Right about that ---- the clutch is hydraulic assisted and multi disc unit. Cerametallic coated Kevlar like most performance ones. But still, not a justification for the outrageous price. i have never heard of a clutch costing that much unless it is NASCAR.

Ford's in the GT is around 150.00. Shelby, perhaps not much more. It is still an OEM Valeo piece.

 

Maybe i can sell Jay the one out of my GT500 and get a Centerforce ....
