Strut Bar??

I picked up a GT500 strut bar. Piano black & gorgeous but I just noticed
others have FORD RACING across the top and this one is smooooth.

Which leads me to the obvious question. Whats what? Which came with which? Was the smooth the stock option & the FR aftermarket?
or was it year specific? any ideas?? In seraching it looks like all of them
have Ford Racing on them...?

So whats this that I have???

Thanks!!

Imagine this but smooth....

I have no idea.

But which car are planning on putting this on?

And how is the new Saleen Series VI.5 lid? Is it any lower across the top than the old one. I've got a 2010 GT strut brace and it doesn't quite clear the old old lid even on .5" lower pro thane engine mounts.

I'm still looking to figure out a strut brace other than the Saleen one that seems a little light to me and iffy.

Its Slated for Barricade. I have the Chicane bar on the Extreme. The Shaker on the 05 cant have a bar without allot of cutting and Im not going there with it. ha haa

The one that is on Barry now was altered Steeda with a plate and a Saleen emblem but I was never really happy with it. Its a great bar but the Steeda plate on there I found it awkward to integrate/cover into the theme.

Since his Plenum is a highly polished piano black, this bar over it will match right in & look gooooood.

I may drop a red Decepticon emblem on the top of it dead center.

The Chicane bar is one awesome piece of work. It is very steady and worth every penny. I actually have a spare I might be willing to part with....

You coming down in October or attending Mustangfest??

Heck. I'm headed to SA this coming week. But yes I am going to try to attend Mustangfest if only on Saturday.

Is the Chicane even made anymore after the death of the owner last Christmas? Or was that someone else?

He's mine OEM GT500 strut tower bar brace (STBB), which I painted... The STBB in your pictured is an aftermarket item... FRPP. There are several other vendors that offer the same bar, however, w/o the FRPP branding.

It's the OEM (factory) bar... I painted it to match the stripes on the car. I have a JLT CAI... It fits fine w/the supplied spacers. Older pics below...

Oh, I couldn't tell from the first picture what year that was. What year is that? The 10/12 don't come with a factory bar.

2008... I know some who have installed STBs on their 10s and 11s. I think that the OEM 07-09s and the FRPP will clear the intake. Check over at TeamShelby.com or fordgt500.com... Here's a link to the latter: http://www.fordgt500.com/forums/show...ht=strut+tower

I know this is a late post, but every once in a while I'll follow the links of those that repost pictures from my photobucket account. That said...

This being once of those reposted pics, I thought I'd chime in. The strut bar OP posted a pic of is that which was used by Shelby on the GT500 KR's from 2008-2009. When Shelby was complete with production, that had a number of these braces left in their stock. They also had a ton of the regular GT500 takeoff skinny braces. When production was complete, they fire saled them to the TeamShelby.com members. I actually purchased 10 of the skinny braces from them to resell locally (they were dirt cheap), and to my surprise, 5 of those 10 showed up at these KR braces. I kept one for myself and sold the rest. I believe you can purchase these through FRPP now for around $255, which really pisses off the KR guys...

Anyway... so the story goes...
