I am taking delivery of an 06 Satin Silver GT next week.
I am having stripes painted on by the dealer.
Can anybody tell me the details of the Shelby GT500 factory stripes?
My guess is 10" with a 1-1/2" gap?

 

This would be usefull information to me as well, I am doing a GT500 conversion and was wondering if someone can give me details on the stock vinyl stripe dimentions....

One better, if someone can tell me the door stripe dimentions with spacing that would be great! THANKS in advance!!

 

Are the GT500 stripes from the factory vinyl or paint?
Anyway, what are the dimensions? The painter at the Ford "stealership" is telling me 1-5/8" gap with 10-1/2" stripe. Can anybody tell us for sure?

That gap looks too small to be 1 5/8".

 

This is 1.5" gap for comparison. Looks larger than the Shelby GT-500 gap

The GT500 in your comparision pic has vinyl tape.

I am still hoping somebody can tell me for sure what the factory dimensions are. GT500's can come from the factory with painted stripes?

 

OK......here is the word on the Shelby GT500 stripes.
I called Ford SVT today and this is what I learned.

All GT500 stripes are vinyl.
The stripes taper from 9.25" front to 10.75" rear.
The gap is 1.25".

Thanks for doing that research!! I knew as i continually looked a photos it looked as if there was a slight taper... However i thought this was just the depth perception. Thanks! Did you find out if we can order this stripe kit from Ford? I think i am just going to go with the OEM stripes for sure now.... Again, thanks for the help!!

 

Is the taper from 10.75" to 9.2" just down the length of the hood, or is it rear to front of the entire vehicle?

 

The taper is from the front of the hood to the rear of the bumper.
No, I did not ask if a stripe kit was available. Sorry, but I am doing paint.

My painter has talked me into 1-5/8" gap w/ 10-1/2" stripes, hard to argue with an "artist". He is has done over 20 'stangs and is convinced the outer edges must align w/ the fogs. I think it will be fine. I'll post pics after I take delivery next week.

 

Good thing you are not going with OEM Vinyl! Just talked w/ KC and OEM shelby stripe kit is like $1242.00!! INSANE!! Looks like i'm going aftermarket! Can anyone tell me what the best quality aftermarket vinyl would be?

 

Might as well paint if it cost that much.
