I read 3 or 4 web sites on the Shelby GT500 and can't remember which one had the thread going that everyone reported what ADM amounts that were being asked. It was neat if for nothing more it not only indicates the amounts for those buying but it is a barameter for those who own one. Heck if a 10K ADM was maintained all the way through the 2 year production than one could assume a used 2007 in 2009 could still get MSRP. Either way I've been to all the sites I visit and can no longer locate this thread. Did it vanish or am I loosing it?

 

FWIW - a dealer in Thousand Oaks, CA has a black on black ShelbyGT500 Convertible on his lot for $79K.....I ofered him MSRP and he just tried to bump me up to the ADM. No dice, paying that much over sticker. The car had no stripes on it (didn't know you could get one w/o stripes) and the dealer had a single wide Gold stripe painted on front bumper to rear. Too bad he messed with it - would be nice a triple black Shelby vert (cloth top too).....that would have been a bit of a sleeper.

 

Theres a stealership here in Ohio by me that is still asking $17,500.00 over MSRP for 4 different GT500's

 

That is the beauty of it. He still has 4 cars and the 2008 are being ordered already. That gluttony will eventually lead to prices falling.

 

I've been told several times by my dealer that I can order an '08 for MSRP. It's just a matter of finding a good dealer, which I know can be a pain.

 

One of my local dealers claims to have 4 allocations and is taking orders at 15K over to fill them.

 

Local dealer just sold one for 15K over MSRP and wants 10K over for their Shelby GT.

 

That's just stupid .....high $40's to $50K for a GT with $2K worth of FRPP parts....no offense - but I'm sure someone will buy it

From looking at e-bay completed listings it looks like the market price is around $54,000-$55,000 range most of the reserves not met ended around this price. Theres a few stupid dealers that won't even let them go for $62,000 and one holding out for $69,000, good luck! I think after the 08"s come out they will make a pretty good adjustment on th remaining 07's.

 

This week at the Manheim auction (wholesale for dealers only) coupes are selling for 53-55k cars from 25-1200 miles. Add to those numbers about $500 for auction fees and transportation to the dealership. This tells me the dealers are not going to let these go for less. There is no way for the dealer to sell the car for MSRP unless it is one of there 1 or 2 they have allocated. To think that these will be going for less than MSRP during 08 is dreaming. To find a dealer who is happy to make about 5200 by selling it at MSRP is the only shot you have at sticker.

 

My local Ford dealer has one with the 10K add on. He's tells me that is for whoever will pay it, because all the other dealers down the strip here have there "Special cars" marked-up also. He did say when approached about it though from "regular" customer's, it goes away.

 

Bwa-ha-ha-ha! If the dealers love those cars so much, they can keep them. The new Camaro and Challenger can't come soon enough to knock down the house of cards these greedy 'tards are building for themselves.

 

Agreed. I'd like to trade up to a GT500, and could justify the MSRP, but can't stomach paying an extra amount that would put a V6 in my garage as well as the Shelby.

It almost makes me want to "Shelbyize" my '05 GT just out of spite.

 

Be patient guys. These will come down to MSRP. Ford will keep making them until the cash cow dries up. They always have and always will. They could care less how rare the cars are. They want to sell cars.

We are already seeing '08 deals at sticker taking place. If you are serious, start visiting dealerships. Late this Summer when the '08 are arriving and the '07s are still sitting there, the ADMs will fall.

 

What? Do you think that the new Cameros and Challengers are going to go for MSRP? No way Jose! They'll charge whatever people are willing pay.

 

No, they will no doubt be victims of the "free market" markups as well, at least initially for all those yahoos that MUST have the first one on the block. But with more musclecar choices in the marketplace it should (hopefully) drive down the Shelby prices to more realistic levels.

 

For those who are cross-shopping, it will make a difference. The dealers (should) know it as well. Ford knows it is the only (muscle car) game in town at the moment, and yes - the brand die-hards/gotta-have-its will take it up the ying-yang first, but IMO prices for all 3 cars will stabilize much quicker compared to the current situation. Competition for market share and all that...

 

I was just checking out two GT 500's (coupe at $73K and vert at $76K) at my local Ford dealer in Simi Valley. They have both been there awile and it will be interesting to see if they start to deal when the '08's begin arriving. As of yesterday the sales guy told me the dealer would not sell for anything less than $17K over......my guess is that he's going to be flooring those cars for a while yet.

 

A White with Blue stripes just sold in Beaumont, TX this week for $17,000 over. It looks like the ADM is still around, at least locally.
