I won't be racing the car anyway and will likely rarely use the full power. I will likely do SVTOA track days and the like. I would mod the car just to have the extra power and throttle response.
Being limited in the information i can safely put forth, i would suggest either Choice to be a good one. If i had not the opportunity with the GT500 and the fact that Roush and SVT Engineering was in the heart of the car from the Factory, then i would most likely have purchased a Stage 3 or a 427R.

Not to say if in a year or two, one sweet Stage 3 or 427R comes my way at the Shop, that it might be time for an upgrade on the Roush.

With regards to the Modular AL 4.6 Block, they have been in 800+ hp at the crank usage, continuously with forged internals, for aproximately a year and a half now. I personally know professional racers whom been testing these and have good things to say regarding the strength of the block under load conditions. Of course, professional testing and street are two different media, but gives a perspective on the potential of the block.

It has more of a raw, no nonsense, street racer feel to it and a sleeper look (it was tungsten and silver). The one that I drove was very plain. IT even had cloth seats. It only had performance upgrades. They really nailed the "theme" of the car.

I doubt I will be getting into the internals with mods.

Can you divulge when the upgrade is expected?

Simply due to risk and longevity, i would not like to get into the internals of the Modular either. Unless, of course, the Manufacturer decides to. At anything past 400 hp, these modulars wake up nicely when having a fine tune.

I cannot divulge information that has not come to Market yet. But, i can say, the Offernigs for the S197 regarding power upgrades are not all out. Keep an eye on the Roush Performance Products division and the Press releases. These are the two main venues at which Roush publicly announces their innovations. Many design ideas have been shared with Ford and Roush. Some of them they are using and some of them, they are not.

The idea of the 427R being all the Fun of the Stage 3, but without all the non performance frills, is the Purpose for which it was designed.

Ebay prices seem to be dropping and sticking around $11,000 over msrp. They are not selling at that price, but it seems to be where the bidding is stopping. I don't have access to which ones have sold and for how much. Any input?

Just did a search on the completed ebay listings.
The lowest price was 56k, the highest 64k (convertible).
However, most go unsold since the reserve is not met.

I would except it to come down faster, If the Z06 is any indication some people with low mileage 07 will move to sell before the 08 arrive and the ADM’s go away. Hopefully creating a bubble of inventory. Lets also keep in mind all of the new
hardware coming

First in the Ford camp:
BOSS mustang 1000 units (going to see some silly ADMs on that one)

and in the Chevy camp
corvettes are going to have a base 6.2 with 450hp…

and Dodge
will have there new 600hp viper as well (silly end of the price scale)

that is a lot of high dollar, high hp iron competing for the same set of dollars the price are going to have to go down…

I don’t know how much is hopeful thinking on my part. I would very much like to have an 07 but if I have to wait tell 08 to get one at MSRP I will. I wonder if Ford will increase the price...

Any one know if the SVT parts shown at SEMA for the GT500 are available yet?

Getting an '08 will be tough as well. There are so many people waiting for one of these things, that even once the "gotta have it now" crowd is done bending over, there will be waiting lists for those who want the car at MSRP...which may prompt yet another kind of bidding war.

If they make the car in '09, that's when I would look for the average joe to have a shot at one.

I think it will be offset with the number of people trying to get out of there 07 wile there still worth more then MSRP. the same thing happend with the Z06, lets say that some even 5-10% of the 07 cars show back up on the market at the same time as the 08 start ramping up. all of a sudden there should be a lot of cars to chose from.

I think I agree. It is not like this cars are flying out of the showroom. Some dealers have 7,8 or more in stock, and they are sitting there because there are no buyers at the price they are asking. Meanwhile Ford is pumping theses out at, I imagine 600 to 700 a month?

The number of avail cars is increasing on ebay. The sales are still slow. The ones that are selling are still getting 10-15 over. Hopefully the number of cars will continue to ramp up and the dealers hold on to them too long. If that happens, ADMs will fall quickly.

I used to believe that these cars would come down to MSRP once the "rich enthusiasts" had had their fill, but I'm not so certain anymore that availability will increase before the end of this year.

I've yet to see the 40th Birthday Edition there on ebay. With all the upgrades one would think they would merit the $100 mark and be in high demand.

One thing for sure, they'll be as rare as the West Coast Customs Editions.

1 month ago there were 20 or so cars on ebay. There were close to 60 a few days ago when I last looked.

Ford

With Ford about to post their largest ever loss in a year, I can`t see any dealers dropping their markup on this car, the dealers are now selling the car to each other with the markup, the dealer I visted last week said their overall sales were the worst in ten years.

I don't see it falling any time soon to MSRP. I think there is a group waiting to purchase at under $50,000, and another larger group waiting to purchase at MSRP.
My price point is $40,000 for a new (not likely) or low mileage used coup. I suspect I will be waiting and saving for at least another 2 years if not longer, but I hope I am wrong.
