No Joke! $50,000 Over MSRP

The saleswoman who sold me my GT just called me 5 minutes ago and said that they have 2 more GT500's allocated to their dealership and that I could purchase it with $10,000 down and $50,000 OVER MSRP. I thought I heard her as $15,000 over so I said 15? And she said no, that's Five-Zero.

I said, "Wow!" That's a lot of money!

She said, "yeah, the owners are firm on that price."

I told her good luck but that I wouldn't purchase it at that price.

Unbelievable!

I think it's great that people with severe mental retardation can be successful business owners. I'll be a little more careful before I write the next one off.

oh crap, 50k over, I will be in Cali pretty soon...I hope this deal will still be available then!

I was planning on just burning my money in my fireplace, but this sounds like a better plan, this way I don't have to clean the fireplace after...

I blame Barrett-Jackson auctions for this behavior! The car market has gone from enthusiast to speculator. It's all about making a quick buck from a buy and resell attitude.

Did you tell them for half that you could build your own that would look better and go faster?

Should have asked her how much future and repeat business they've figured to lose by trying to screw customers over like this. Not to mention how it reflects on Ford as a whole.

Maybe this is part of the "Bold Way Moves Forward" plan.

And they wonder why most car salesmen have bad reps! Im glad I bought mine through military car sales where all the cost were listed out in black and white. No hassle on the price.

That's just horrible... who in the right mind would pay 100K for a Shelby Cobra?
Think of the other cars you can purchase with those 100K

It does not suprise me one bit. There are alot of people in the world who have sooo much money, 100k is nothing. The sad thing for most of them a GT 500 would just be a status toy, parked in the garage with all the other toys and forgotten.
