MD Speed Shop- Tim's 707 RWHP '08 GT 500

Tim brought us a stone stock '08 GT 500 to have a supercharger put on with the only exsisting mod being axle back mufflers We decided on the new Vortech/Lyscholm 3.3 twin screw supercharger. When doing GT 500 aftermarket blower cars they are usually installed with a set of headers. We were slightly disappointed in the power numbers with 640 RWHP at 19#.

The customer brought it back under our recomendation for a performance exhaust. We installed Kooks 1 7/8" headers, 3" catted mid-pipe and the exsisting FRPP mufflers. We threw her back on the dyno and saw the RWHP numbers jump up to 707 RWHP, which is an increase of 58 RWHP and 42 RWTQ!

Check out the dyno video and pics of Tim's amazing ride!

That's the same car that was in The Rooster Challenge wasn't it? We split wins in the 1/8 mile portion of the event at Thornhill . . . . traction issues with the GT500 (and the Mach!)

Let's just say that traction is an issue under 65mph with Mickey Thompson Drag Radials.

It sure is. We also put a Spec twin disc clutch in it and added 3.73 gears. His clutch was fried and would slip at 1500 RPM!

Yeah slicks, control arms and other suspension items. We did just do some Steeda lower control with urethane on one end and spherical on the other end.

Ok, cool. Thanks!

I'm curious as to how much of the HP and TQ gains are a combination of the blower/exhaust, and how much is just the exhaust. Any idea what this exact exhaust combo would yeild at the rears to an N/A, non-modded motor?

The exhaust was worth 58 RWHP on this car with the blower on it. On a N/A 3V GT we usually see about 25 RWHP with headers an O/R pipe and mufflers.
